WE WANT TO GIG! GIVE US A GIG! LET THE TODGER INSIDE OF YOU FREE AND LET IT PERFORM AND JIGGLE BEFORE YOUR VERY EYES! JUST GIVE US A SHOUT!
Todger, the first, last and possibly only word in pan-genre-omni-rock. Formed originally in Brimingham in 2002, and then reforming again in London in February 2007, Todger overpowers the stage with a host of up to 7 musicans all at once, bedecked in dinner jackets and aviator sunglasses, pounding out a new take on the classic rock sound with a comic lyrical twist and a faux gospel backing vocals. Theatrical explosions of tongue in cheek rock cliches, combined with roaring riffage, noodling guitar solos, deep south preacher vocals and a harmonising angelic choir of BVs.
The Good Reverend Christian prowls the stage screaming 'Hell Yeahs' and deep voiced lyrical innuendos, puns and sexual absurdities like a pervereted preacher for the God Of Rock, while foot-on-monitor, The Bitchen Black Jack Barber lets rips the blues scales in all its hideous guises, Hugh 'Mungus' Fairclough vibrates the core of every ladies being with his melodic and grooving basslines and questionnable fashion taste, accompanied by the maniacal John 'Doghouse' Riley banging his guitar like an enraged monkey while echoing The Good Reverends sentiments into the mic, all to swinging beats and jazzy breaks of Nathan 'The Artful Todger' Sparks on percussion and cheeky suggestive grin duty.
Along with this core of instrumentalists, the soaring range of Vanessa 'Kitty Le Bang' Hawes vocals and the desperate harmonic yells of Gareth 'G-Whizz' Thomas forming the core of the backing angelic choir. With their adeptness at playing both full rocking electric gigs to unplugged rockoustic gigs with the same gusto and passion, it allows Todger to play the largest and loudest venues, to the friendly confines of the low key acousitc nights, all the while beleiving that music should be fun and performances should result in a damn good rocking out for both the band and the audience otherwise why not just stick a CD on and be done with it!
So get your nailguns out and scream Hell Yeah
HELL YEAH!
