Sounds Like
Not a lot out there really, if you think of anyone let us know!!
“George Tizzard made music in secret for a couple of years before realising he was really quite good at it – he plays guitar, keys, drums, bass. And he produces. And he sings. Oh, lyrics – them too. 18 year old Kate, on the other hand, stumbled across her annoyingly good voice at a drunken beach singalong. The track was ‘Gerschwin’s ‘Summertime’, although the goose pimples on the audience’s arms suggested anything but. George carted little sis into the studio, and Framed were born.
Their relationship makes for a great dynamic both in and out of the studio, and they’re impossible to dislike after witnessing a live performance. By song two, George’s wisecracks and Katy’s “watchoutJossStone” vocals will have you settled in for the duration. Their sound is fun and just the right side of mainstream. There’s good pop and bad pop, and this is bloody good pop- a sentiment that has been echoed by quite a few record execs. George’s production skills means he can have experiment in his home studio; “I’m into choirs at the moment”, he says, as he layers his voice into a Lion King-esque pattern worthy of Africa’s hottest plains. But then, he’s also into hip-hop with silly lyrics and rocky guitar chords. Add Katy’s jazzy voice into the mix and you get a very interesting result.
And as for the band’s name…the thought of making a naff joke about elderly/young/stupid people being caught on tape didn’t really seem to fit. You can always send us video clips of people falling over, mind. Just fuck off if you think we’re paying £250 for them.”
