Formed in 2002, Tip The Van is a rockin' female fronted power-ska, pop, reggae, rock, anything-goes band from central Connecticut. Main influences include RX Bandits, Dance Hall Crashers, The Slackers, The Mad Caddies, Save Ferris, Less Than Jake, Reel Big Fish, and many more.
Tip The Van has been described as having a unique sound, tight horn lines, and an irresistible dance groove. Tip The Van frequently plays hall shows, benefits, festivals, and large venues all over New England.
Joining up with the Vans Warped Tour in the summers of 2005 and 2006, Tip The Van found great success all over the east coast and into the Midwest. Tip The Van has played with many noteworthy bands including Less Than Jake, Reel Big Fish, RX Bandits, MU330, Big D and the Kids Table, MXPX, The Toasters, The Pietasters, The Slackers, Streelight Manifesto, Catch 22, The Voodoo Glowskulls, and Mustard Plug, as well as numerous local favorites.
Tip The Van is currently signed to Asbestos Records and has three studio albums as well as three full live recordings. Their latest album, Something Wicked, is available online at Interpunk.com, CDbaby.com, and iTunes, and also at shows. TTV is also featured on compilation CDs released by Asbestos Records, TopShelf Records, and others. Tip The Van was featured in Cal Magazine in the Hartford Courant in July 2006. They were the winners of "Best Punk/Reggae/Ska Band" in the Hartford Advocate Grand Band Slam for three years in a row and were featured on the cover of the Hartford Advocate in July 2006.
