| About This Romantic Tragedy |
|
Las Vegas has become the new "hot bed" for rock acts and This Romantic
Tragedy in just a short year has gathered an enormous fan base of loyal
followers. This can be attributed to tantalizing song writing team of
long time friends David Diaz and Kyle Huender, the two guitarists in the
band, who spend much of their free time crafting new songs and improving
on some of the old ones. The sound is original, but one can find traces
of all kind of musical styles in their songs, but in the end the band
labels it as Experimental, Screamo and Hardcore. The sound relies on the
harmonizing guitars and keyboards, while punctuated by a very strong
rhythm section of thumping bass, and pedal to metal drums. The songs
could be instrumentals but that would leave no place to express the
strong and sensitive lyrics. The vocals complete the tight package, and
becomes the link that captivates the fans, who often complete and sing
along to the lyrics.
This Romantic Tragedy or TRT as the fans have come to call the band for
short, came out of the ashes of several projects of David Diaz and Kyle
Huender and took shape early in 2007 with Carlin Leavitt on Bass and
Alan Dunaway on Drums, and Dakota Mc Cullough on vocals, the band was
runner up in a battle of the bands. Alan was replaced by Mark Neuhardt
and shortly after Dakota was let go and replaced with the former singer
of "Run about the streets" Jay Camillerri. The band was set to conquer
Vegas, playing as many gigs as they could in a City that is short on
venues that allow all age fans to admire bands that play their music.
The band recorded an Demo EP at AM Audio, and the songs receive steady
amount of plays daily and a ever growing fan base thanks to their
energetic concerts drawing big crowds, or their Myspace page which has
reached fans from all over the world who express their dedication and
love for their music. Late 2007 saw the addition of long time friend
Gabe Centeno ..board to give the band an even richer live sound. The
Live concerts keep attracting more fans each time and the band has
proved themselves as openers for such acts as "Sky eats Airplane",
”Chiodos”, ”BlessTheFall”, "Emarosa", and "A Static Lullaby".
2008, a new year full of promises, and the band will be kicking it up a
notch, they returned to the studio to record their CD “Like Drama, Like Karma”.
All members except for Jay are still in High School, that
fact alone gives even an even bigger impression on how far this band can
grow. But why talk about it, let the music speak for itself, check out
the bands webpage at http://www.myspace.com/thsromantictragedy and let
the music capture you...
