Derek (that's me!) has been churning out lo-fi DIY recordings since Y2K, when he decided to buy an 8 track recorder and become a reclusive, multi-instrumentalist recording artist. He made 2 albums in 4 years. In mid 2005 he got really bored of being a one man band, so he enlisted his old lady to be his drummer. Well, actually he threatened to get a sexy chick drummer and she reminded him that she was a sexy chick but was not yet a drummer and would it be OK to be his drummer even though she had never even so much as picked up a drumstick. He told her she had to audition. She did, she rocked the audition and was hired on the spot. So the one man band thus became a one man, one woman band, and that is how it is going to be forever and ever.
Sometimes Derek (thats me!) just plays acoustic guitar and harmonica and sings, sometimes melanie drums along with that set-up, and sometimes he goes electric and when that happens they rock so hard (or suck so bad-it all hinges on the stars and the libations) that it is very, very, very, very, very scary.

Actually, you can't use the same flier twice in the same town... Still I ask people if they came out to the aforementioned show with the really cool flier, and that usually shuts them up. ...unless...They WERE at that show or they happened to be on the bill, in which case I got nothing.
That's just f'd up. Hey, if you're not busy on Sat, we'll be in the studio working on CW around 3PM. Great show the other night by the way. Thanks for busting out FFYR.
Derek, Thanks for the generous hospitality you and your family gave the band in SLO. Much appreciated! We had a great time, great venue! We will be back soon I hope.
Thanks for the add, and for checking out my music! Be sure to stop by my CDBaby page to hear more of the album. You can also find the album on iTunes. I appreciate your ears -- thanks for listening! -- GM
