After time spent testing the sonic waters of New York City and Seattle, singer/songwriter Michael R. Sanchez finally chose Chicago as home to his musical pseudonym The Way It Is. First relying mostly on a beat up acoustic guitar and MP3 player to fill out his sound, he later met keyboardist Theodore Blair, who quickly joined the line up.
Pairing Michael's catchy melodies and distinct vocal phrasing with Theo's solid technique and vintage piano sound, they redefined an already unique musical sensibility. Often addressing themes like romantic isolation, grade school angst and pop music overload, their electronic-tinged indie rock will leave you humming all the way home.
The Way It Is has performed in venues all across the country including
Seattle's Bumbershoot and The Seaport Music Festival in New York City.
They have shared the stage with such acts as Devotchka, Clap Your
Hands Say Yeah, The Dead Science and Jen Wood.

Mmm...I just stuffed myself on some sweet sweet tunes! Not too much where you want to puke it all up, but just right; where you feel warm and cozy. Can I have that in hard copy format please?
Thanks for inviting Rahu-Ketu to play the 30th show. "At the Party" and the Billy Bragg song were definite hightlights of your performance. May you continue to make good music in 2007.
