Spiney Norman is mainly two guys.

Rick is the drummer and percussionist. He's a very creative guy who has shared the stage with some of the best musicians in the country.

George, he's the lead guitarist / singer / keyboard player of the group. You don't want to mess with him. His guitar playing has been known to cause lesser men to spontaneously defecate. He's also a record producer with ten Grammy nominations. Really.

Anyway, they got sick of playing in the bands they were in, got together and now they do the kind of music they like with no rules. It’s called "Spiney Norman" music. Some people call it "progressive-jazz-rock." Whatever. A lot of people seem to like it, so check it out.
