The Silverwings are an Alternative “Blues-Punk” band based in Bayside, New York.
The band consists of vocalist/guitarist Jeff Starace, drummer Chris Morales, and bassist Sal Pisciotta.

The overall story isn’t miraculous. There were no “signs,” flocks of eagles the first time they played together, or a holy light, though I think we could all agree that would have been rather awesome.

Instead, the band is made up of a group of friends who, after going through a number of bassists, found a piece that fit the puzzle. They’ve also visited every pizzeria in College Point. Actually, let’s go back to that bit about eagles…it sounds much cooler.

Together, the group shares a passion for a diverse amount of music, from the melodic pop of The Beatles, the always-adventurous spirit of Muse, the blues-rock of Led Zeppelin, and the punk-inspired grit of Green Day.

Never ones to settle, the group continues to write new material from a diverse amount of influences, creating music that sounds familiar, yet unique and new.

The group has played numerous shows with various acts such as Allister, Hello Nurse, August Burns Red, Just the Tip, Digamy, Betty Poison, and Jump For The Sails, as well as many other local acts. The band has played shows at Webster Hall, The Knitting Factory, and The Vibe Lounge, Queens College, and with Taking Back Queens. The Silverwings continue to perform locally in the Queens, Long Island, Astoria, and New York circuit along with other local New York Bands.
