Author of the New York Times bestseller, The Best Democracy Money Can Buy, Palast is best known in his native USA as the journalist who, for the Observer (UK), broke the story of how Jeb Bush purged thousands of Black Florida citizens from voter rolls before the 2000 election, thereby handing the White House to his brother George. His reports on the theft of election 2004, the spike of the FBI investigations of the bin Ladens before September 11, the secret State Department documents planning the seizure of Iraq?s oil fields have won him a record six ?Project Censored? for reporting the news American media doesn?t want you to hear. ?The top investigative journalist in the United States is persona non grata in his own country?s media.? [Asia Times.] He returned to America to report for Harper?s Magazine.
If you know the answer now is the time to say. Where is the escape, which is the way?
How long must we be without, locked within the tomb of thoughts, chained to a wall of doubt, will it ever be new, is the answer ever true?
Trapped in the quicksand of hate, broiled by the flames of fate. Someone once said crooked could never be straight, lost would never be found, and brutality is humanity's sate?
Standing in the welfare line, millions of people wonder what to do, millions more have no clue.
Where is the gate, where is the truth, is it within me, is it within you, is love merely caprice's delegate?
As life fades, as light becomes shade, I yearn for hope to perpetuate, I need to talk with you.
I wrote these words for everyone, but I cannot reach you.
Well thank goodness for that. They are all still facing charges though, what a bunch of bullshit. Obvious, transparent intimidation tactics. Thanks to Mr. Palast for sending out a MySpace bulletin earlier, first I had heard of this reprehensible situation.
Thanks you so much for the add, Greg! I loved "Armed Madhouse" and also enjoy the many excellent articles that you write. You've been an important part of my political education. Thanks for all you do for democracy!
we listened to "Elliot's Mess" on your website last night...not only was it informative (something we hadn't heard) but you are hilarious! Keep up the good work!
thanks for the comment... HBO, that would kick so much ass man. American media is total garbage. I got your book around to quite a few people and most of them were astonished. 'you mean to tell me the government lies?' just another sad story of deception. I let my grandpa watch the best democracy money can buy and he cryed at the end. he was in the army for 20 years and it broke his heart to see that. he never liked bush or republicans anyways. your work is fantastic. ive been a fan since i was a jr in high school. I keep sending the word out. keep in touch man. Salem
Hey Greg. Thanks for the request! Glad to be connected here. Big fans of your wonderful work.
"The only dream worth having is to dream that you will live while you are alive, and die only when you are dead. To love, to be loved. To never forget your own insignificance. To never get used to the unspeakable violence and vulgar disparity of the life around you. To seek joy in the saddest places. To pursue beauty to its lair. To never simplify what is complicated or complicate what is simple. To respect strength, never power. Above all to watch. To try and understand. To never look away. And never, never to forget." - Arundhati Roy
Thanks Greg, I appreciate your adding me into the circle of friends here. Thank you, for speaking the truth and being a GREAT source for accurate information. Sending best wishes to you! Shelley Bluejay Pierce journalist- Native American Times, Pacific Free Press
As soon as I heard about what's going on in New Mexico, I thought about you and hoped to hear you on the radio. Thankfully Richard Green had you on last night, sadly, KTLK is so messed up and the program got cut off in mid sentence. Also,I suspect that Green is a little clueless- great guy- but clueless about somethings. Thanks for your great work Greg! Really appreciate you!
so there was this huge effort to get Al Gore to run for president and they have given up - now i realize that he cant run as a democrat now but i believe he could run as an independent - and thats just what we need - an strong indpendent with name recognition - someone who could lead a legitimate new third party - this nation has not had a viable third party in a long long time - its time - lets renew the effort to get Gore on the ballot and create plan(party) C for this nation - "The Integrity Now" party
Greg, Thanks for the great interview yesterday! My listeners loved it! Still pulling for Alaskans when it comes to the Exxoff Valdez...Take care, yours, Shannyn Moore
