Everyone who has attended and participated in a Monthly Hoot is a "member". That's certainly scores people since it got started way back in 2004. It ought to include you as well!
In a perfect world The Monthly Hoot is a totally open arts jam. ..musicians, poets, dancers, visual artists--everyone's welcome to come and do their thing together, ensemble style. Usually there are about twenty or so participants, and usually they're musicians, but it'd be REALLY NICE to get some other art going...

ya know, it's an amateur thing. and often people are "sightreading"...so there's a lot of spontaneous stuff..some of it's OK; some of it's not OK and some of it's SUBLIME.

For some reason it's just fun to jam on Sunday afternoon. And once a month is sustainable. That's it basically. You're welcome to show up and join us, especially if you listen as you play, and you dig improvisation.
We get together on the first Sunday afternoon of each month at The Nomad, which is at 501 Cedar Avenue in Minneapolis. It's just a friendly, folksie, rockin, take-turns kinda jam, where everyone has a chance to lead (a little) and follow (mostly). The only rule is to take turns; let the other person lead when it's her/his turn! Even if (you think) you know the song better than the song leader...when it's not your turn to lead, you should be following, supporting...

I'm good to hear the recording worked out, that we were hootin up a storm... I was home about 1 too... got home about 1 coz I went out to have some fun!
