The following are bands and artists that influenced me musically growing up. They are arranged in no particular order. Many people are so shallow they think that if you respect an artists work, you must respect and agree with their socialogical, political, and/or theological angles. I'm a free thinker and good music will not influence my thought patterns. That being said, some of the artists that have influenced me the most throughout my life have been:
LIVE
MUSE
FILTER
PRINCE
PRIMUS
FUGAZI
ZORNIK
BB KING

Relatively new features that technology has given us, like Google Search, youtube and the like, has really fleshed out life in a lot of ways, and made it complicated in other ways. I hope that the availability of graphic images to kids of any age does not affect our world's subconscious minds, but that's like hoping that the sun wont rise tomorrow. We all know it will.
Also, the inhability of many people to distinguish between choreographed violence and make up effects in the movies, and reality, really worries me.

Here's the first thing you should know about this account.
I started this page to share my music with the humanity, and have since made many friends all over the world. It is rare that I meet with anyone in person from myspace, but invitations to meet in person with anyone underage will be ignored, and repeat requests will result in me blocking your account.
Extremely flattering words from friends. I don't like to brag on my work, but here are what some of my friends have said about my work. Thank you Donya and Db!
Material Objects frontman Mark is a tantalizing combination of Brandon Boyd (Incubus) and Trent Reznor (Nine Inch Nails); he has a beautiful intensity and vulnerability, yet maintains a mysterious dark persona. Mark's voice and song-writing talent would make any TV show christened rocker leave the stage red-faced in shame. Most surprising is that he writes in a variety of rock styles.
His current tracks include the accessible & melodic "Now", a modern piano-driven trip called "To A Void" , an upbeat electronic track called "Long Arm", and two tracks, "Wait" & "City", in classic rock style.
The Doors, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Radiohead and NIN influences are apparent. And did I mention he's ridiculously sexy? If this critic had her way, the shephard hook would be dragging off a certain TV contest rocker...to make way for the Material Objects!
Get this man on MTV.
Donya S. (Delicate)
The Material Objects is the brain child of Mark of Little Rock Arkansas. Fed up with a world of music stagnated by the philosophy that all artistic expression must fullfill a certain market niche, or commercial agenda, he does his part to carry the torch in the name of free creativity and uninhibited artistic expression with full intentions of burning his mark into the minds of the thoughtful listener.
Most of his lyrics address interpersonal problems, esoteric mindsets, and spiritual battles. He said, "I have no intention of setting out to write a 'hit'. If that happens it happens, but it won't be because I conciously set out to write something 'catchy'. I have every confidence I could do that, but I'd rather frustrate the people who would only like my music if it sounded 'pop'. I would rather record a song that I'll be happy with at the end of the day, and that's the way I intend to make music for the rest of my time. Life is too short to be a crowd pleaser. Be you."
The map above will let us know where people are interested in our music around the world. When this map starts getting really populated, we will start planning a tour based on where the scenes are. So spread the word!!!

First things first,Canadians heads do not flap up and down like they do on South Park. Second, they do say aboot instead of about! By the way, hi Mark, how was your weekend?
