| About The Langley Brothers |
I edited my profile at Freeweblayouts.net, check out these Myspace Layouts!
The Langley's consisted of older brother Jordan Langley, younger brothers John Henry. Jerry, Jock, and sister Joanna Langley. Coming from a heavy church background, father being a minister, and being raised in a church, the brothers and sister joined the church choir called "The Junior Golden Stars". From church to the music scene, the Langley's in 1970 formed a group called "The Langley Five". Through-out the 70s The Langley Five performed on the Historical New Haven Green, and all up and down the tri-state area. In 71 and 72, they performed at the famous Apollo Theater, the Langley Five played host to recording artists Patty Lebell, Curtis Mayfield and many others. In 1973 the family decided to branch off into other fields. Brothers John Henry (guitar & vocalist) and Jerry Langley (Bass guitar & vocalist) remained together to keep the legacy moving. Through-out the 70s late 80s, the two Langley brothers backed up and opened up for numerous signed and unsigned artists. Just to name a few, in 73 Hugh Heffners mansion, backed up The Sharrells, played with Dony Hataway, George Clinton & The Funkadelics, Blue Magic, Lost Generation, Barbara Mason, The Spinners in 1972 Chicago, Drifters and Coasters, Bonny Floyd & The Untouchables Machine Shop, Ottis Devirle, The Continental Four, J Satins, Basko Richardson, Dwight Andrews, Cecilia Callaway, Nat Addlely Jr (son of the great cannon ball Addlely and former musical Director of the late great Luther Vandross). They also recorded with former R&B group signed with Polygram Records Shomari, and many many more.
In the early 90s, the brothers hooked up with recording star. Laco Dezi of Cellular New York and remarkable drummer Chris Lyons on a tour through Europe. Hitting places like Check Republic, Frankfort Germany, Poland, and Slovakia with a live show that entailed original tunes and renditions. In 91 they went back into the studio with New York recording artist Gary Benjamin, to cut vocals for his debut album. In the process they worked with Dave Redul EWF Engineer who mixed the project. All through-out the 90s to the early 2000s, The Langley Brothers performed in private parties, functions, festivals, cruises, and weddings; opening up for signed and unsigned artists. They also performed at gigs and concerts all over the world. All through-out The Langley Brothers career, they have played with local and well known bands such as Boogie Chillen, George Baker, CLC Connections, Fay Green in The Funky All-Stars, and Crown Vic; just to name a few.
In 2005 early 2006 The Langley Brothers acquired a new solo Hip-Hop and R&B sensation Gerard Langley, son of legendary bass guitar player and vocalist Jerry Langley. Gerard better known as G or Gnice has been on the music scene promoting the up and coming albums & mix tapes through-out the states.
Last but not least, The Langley Brothers acquired dynamic keyboardist/ musical director Matt Oestreicher, along with long time friend & drummer Chris Lyons of Cellular, New York to form the band "The Langley Brothers".
The five piece band comes with not only history & generation , but with a sound like no other. With Vocal & Musical Composition that can be considered genius.
