"With their tight harmonies and feel-good pop songs, The Kanyu Tree's shows are toe-tappingly good" … "Impressively harmonised pop intelligence, allied with a generous helping of white boy funk, a band deeply immersed in the rhetoric of pop music - dancing is the only option!"
Just a couple of many national media reviews mirroring the incredible reaction over the past year to the Cluskey brothers' (Shane, Daniel and Oisin) live shows in major venues throughout Ireland, including The Olympia Theatre and headlining the 3-Day Feile Beo Festival.
The Kanyu Tree's first full year in action also highlighted a top 20 debut single, IMRO Showcase Tour selection, numerous TV / Radio appearances, support slots with The Bluetones, The Stunning and I'm From Barcelona culminating in a 17 gig support tour of the UK with The Saw Doctors playing to capacity crowds in Liverpool's Philharmonic, Manchester's Apollo, London's Shepherd's Bush Empire et al.
The early part of 2008 saw them headlining a sell out show at Whelans and supporting The Hold Steady and Ocean Colour Scene on their nationwide tour. A new single will be launched in May, and a first album is planned for later 2008.
Reviews:
"The Kanyu Tree deal in some of the most exquisite harmony vocals we've heard since the Bee Gees … behind the voices, they blend light funk rock with cute pop rock … great falsetto trademark harmonies stealing your heart all over again … this is classy stuff that brings a touch of sunshine into these bleak autumn days …." – Hotpress, Jackie Hayden

Sorry bout the group mail (despite your name being cunningly added into the first line. How did I do that?)
Anyways, stuck up some new recordings of songs we did in the album session in Electrical Audio. None of the songs are mastered yet and there are a couple of tweaks here and there to be done but I thought I"d stick em up so you could get a listen before the album is released.
I"m gonna rotate the songs on an as unyet decided basis (weekly, biweekly, triweekly even??) and include songs that didn"t make the final cut. Watch out for them...
The songs up now are There You Stand, This Is How We Play and Home.
Thanks TKT, I appreciate the greeting and comments, I appreciate it. I hope you are having a great week, stay in touch. I'll talk to you soon. Thanks, Stephan

i heard there was a secret chord that david played and it pleased the lord but you don't really care for music, do you well it goes like this the fourth, the fifth the minor fall and the major lift the baffled king composing hallelujah
hallelujah...
well your faith was strong but you needed proof you saw her bathing on the roof her beauty and the moonlight overthrew you she tied you to her kitchen chair she broke your throne and she cut your hair and from your lips she drew the hallelujah
hallelujah...
baby i've been here before i've seen this room and i've walked this floor i used to live alone before i knew you i've seen your flag on the marble arch but love is not a victory march it's a cold and it's a broken hallelujah
hallelujah...
well there was a time when you let me know what's really going on below but now you never show that to me do you but remember when i moved in you and the holy dove was moving too and every breath we drew was hallelujah
well, maybe there's a god above but all i've ever learned from love was how to shoot somebody who outdrew you it's not a cry that you hear at night it's not somebody who's seen the light it's a cold and it's a broken hallelujah
