I have wanted to "craft" for many years, but never took the time until recently. Inspired by my gardens and love for nature, I have been drawn to the magic of fairies. Creating places for them to gather and celebrate life is what I hope to add to their "already" perfect world. Growing up in an animal friendly home has shown me that there is much more in life than just existing and taking. You can give back love, enjoyment, and happiness to all around you. I grew up in the suburbs of Nashville where i lived most of my life, until moving out here to the country 3 years ago. It is a much slower pace of life here...a small town, people wave to you on the street, and when they ask how you are doing, they REALLY want to know. I have been working on making my house into my own personal getaway-which was not hard due to the simple fact that it is just like being in a cabin in Gatlinburg. I added some ponds, streams, and my special touch to everything i could. So, with my castle in the woods (so to speak), my cats, dogs, fish, and the occasional fairy fluttering through my flowers, I have found my place in life that I hope comes out in my art pieces. Please, check out my art and maybe a little "whimsey" will enter into yours! The Faerywatcher
About me: I am a part of CLAWS, Cat Lovers Alliance for Welfare and Sterilization, a non-profit program founded and run by Donna Baker-my mother and my best friend. It was created to aid in the over population of cats and also to give homeless, abused, and feral kitties a second chance for a better life. She rescued kitties from the Nashville Women's prison where a guard stomped the head of a little black and white female permanently disfiguring her face. We had a hand in "trying" to reform the metro dog pound where all animals should be treated humanly and cruelty free, (it's not the animals fault they are there, it's the people's fault)! We now volunteer our time to aid with "Snip n Tip". A program ran in Wilson county once a month for the spaying/neutering of feral cats---they snip them (the surgery) and then tip their ear (slightly) so it is apparent that they have been sterilized. Between us both, we have rescued many lost souls and in doing that, we have several special need kitties such as diabetic, kidney failure, and heart problems. All are as healthy as we can make them, very spoiled, and truly happy!
“Nature herself, it seemed, would raise A minster to her Maker’s praise! Not for a meaner use ascend Her columns, or her arches bend; Nor of a theme less solemn tells That mighty surge that ebbs and swells, And still between each awful pause, From the high vault an answer draws, In varied tone, prolonged and high, That mocks the organ’s melody; Nor doth its entrance front in vain To old Iona’s holy fane, That Nature’s voice might seem to say, Well hast thou done, frail child of clay! Thy humble powers that stately shrine Tasked high and hard- but witness mine!” _The Druids-Iona-age of fables
