The Dead Love have been called everything from post-grunge, punk, hard rock, “party grunge” (Beat Magazine) through to a personal favourite, “surf rock mad dogs”.
Call it what you like, but the band have built a reputation for putting on a no nonsense, f@#k-off rock show. These guys have been delivering their sweaty mess to venues all over the country, touring with the likes of Closure In Moscow, British India, Born Lion, Redcoats and Strangers. The band has racked up an EP (I), radio play across Australia, New Zealand and the US, over 88,000 views on Youtube, festival dates and a string of headline and support tours across the country.

“The three piece boast a harder and grunge influenced sound. These Sydney based dudes definitely flexed their guitar muscles with ease and it was a pleasure to watch them do their thing on stage. With such high quality acts from local bands such as these, one would think there would be no question as to whether there should be more venues open for live music in Sydney.” – The Music

“The Dead Love have that aged and experienced sound that most bands take years to develop…Our hopes are high that more bands like this can save our dying live music industry” – Blunt Magazine

“I heard many good things about this band before tonight, but I felt that hardly anything I was told did this awesome live performance any justice. This bands is high energy, four on the floor hard rock that are quite a force to be reckoned with” – Sludge Factory

This Is A War

Clocking in at just over 2 minutes, This Is A War is the unrelenting first single from The Dead Love's forthcoming debut album "Transitions". It’s a threat, it’s a cry and it’s a chant, “This Is A War” is a rally from the gut.

As the album title suggests, This Is A War is a preview of the band’s transitioning sound. Their humble rock n’ roll beginnings are still present, but this track represents new territory for the three piece, verging on grunge inspired post-hardcore.

Recorded and produced in Austin Texas by producer Chris “Frenchie” Smith (The Dandy Warhols, The Datsuns, And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead) and mixed in the UK by Chris Sheldon (Foo Fighters, Biffy Clyro, Calling All Cars).
