The Buckaroosters were created in 1999 by Dave Keenan and Keith Lowe after 5 weeks on the road with the play 'A closer walk with Patsy Cline'. "We were a bit sick of Patsy and would listen to Buck in the hotel room and realized we wanted to play HIS music." said Keith.
After the play ended they put together a band of crack twang-groovers and booked a gig.
That was 8 years and a dozen drummers ago.
The band plays clubs and concerts around the Seattle area and has a loyal following of Buck-enthusiasts.
Leon Berman of KEXP's Shake the Shack calls the Buckaroosters "Seattle's best country band" He might just be right...
Hey, just a shout out from The Mungo's. Glad to finally get you on the friends list. We hope to get out to a show one of these days. Maybe when you're at the Hen! We'll be down at the Lakewood Elks Nov 18th for the cancer benefit for Shirley Vaherin. She taught country line dancing in the South Puget Sound area for over 25 years. Lorain, owner of Lady Luck in Spanaway helped organize the show. So far 6 plus bands are on board to play for it. We hope we all raise lots of money to help Shirly out. She just had a double mastectomy. Chemo and Radiation are keeping her out of work. If you're out and about on Sunday, pop on down to Tacoma and rub elbows with us Southern Sounders! Love, Norine.
My new group, Micah Hulscher and Keys to the Country, will be debuting at the Pampas Room on Sat, May 12th. It features my original instrumental compositions, which are based in Jazz with a strong focus on Americana, along with some familiar American standards. The lineup is myself on Piano, Geoff Harper on upright bass, John Terpin on trombone, and the venerable C.T. on drums. We'll be there every Saturday from 8-12:30 and there's no cover. The Pampas room is located underneath El Gaucho on 1st and Wall in Belltown.
Thanks for the add! I've been waiting in your welfare line because it's crying time again but buckaroo, I've got a tiger by the tail because they're gonna put me in a movie! Whooo! Didn't think I could work that many songs into one sentence!
Ya'll gonna fly the coop over to Mephis for the shindig this month? If you are we 'll pick some . I'm doing four or five show-cases with the Jitterbug Vipers.
It’s time for me to shut up.
Good-bye,
Later,
Slim
