About The Bluze Brothers (Need Elwood & band members)
The Bluze brothers are an authentic Blues brothers tribute act based in Stoke on Trent in the UK
Blues brothers fans Matt ("Elwood" number 1) & Ian ("Jake") who had both had some limited success on the local & national karaoke & singing scene over the last 10 years or so, who after listening to some Blues brothers tracks decided they could do a tribute to emulate their heroes & quickly worked on a new act & founded "the Bluze brothers" as a gimmick. Matt was already an established singer having some success in local singing contests as well as pub/club singing & even national singing contests & televised talent shows & Ian was an experienced karaoke show host who had also had some small sucess in local competition. Following this the two began their quest, mainly singing Blues brothers songs in costume as a duet at karaoke & disco events to backing tracks in a hope to to gain credibility.
Matt decided that he wanted to concentrate more on his day job & his own singing career & so a new "Elwood" stepped forwards to take his place, however Gavin ("Elwood" number 2) wanted to sing more to a backing band & become a proper tribute than to sing to backing tracks & suggested that it would be a great idea to perform as The Blues Brothers as a more authentic tribute act - the two immediately began practicing for the show & decided it was time to put a band together. Gavin has one significant difference over Matt in that Gavin lives & breathes the Blues brothers 24/7 - so much so that even on a daily basis can be seen walking around in his black suit, fedora hat & dark glasses even blowing the harp from time to time when the mood takes him. Gavin, however has now left the Bluze Brothes due to personal reasons but we hope 1 day soon he will return.
With the recent death of Soul Legend James Brown, Bluze Brothers Ian, Matt & Gavin each wanted to ensure the new show lives on to continue the great legacy of the Godfather of soul & of course the iconic character he played from the 2 films.
After a few weeks of Gavin joining the act, a band was put together but for reasons known only to them they decided to split so the Bluze brothers are now like their original counterparts "putting the band back together" & looking for new band members. The 3 main singers continue to appear in the famous black suits and glasses whenever they can doing charity events & even enterting talent contests or singing contests & continue to work on their act, being mentored by "the penguin" who is the show manager.
Currently The Bluze Brothers seek a new 'Elwood' to join our tribute show. Experience is not necessary as we will train a suitable person if required. Must be reliable, able to sing in the Blues Brothers style & willing to sing to backing tracks with a view to singing with a live band.
All you need is a singing voice & the famous black suit (if you have one! - if not we know where to get one for a reasonable cost) Experience playing the harmonica is preferred but not essential.
Also we still require a backing band.....You can be the backbone. The nerve centre of a great rhythm and blues show. You can, make that live, breath and jump again. - Failing that you could always play as "Murph & the magic tones" but we'll never get the Phat sound again, not without Mr Fabulous. We are looking for a complete established or up & coming band that wouldn't mind us fronting vocally from time to time or musicians to come forward so we can form a new band ourselves. Ideally we need the following musicians:: Guitarists, Horn players & Keyboard / Synth player. NOTE, you must have your own instruments & relevant PA equipment. You should be familiar with music from the 2 Blues Brothers films & music from well known and legendary artists from the Atlantic & Stax Records era.

Hi The Bluze Brothers (Need Elwood & band members), Thanks for the add – have a good one. All the best Sososher Sososher – it’s a bit of a tongue twister isn’t it “try saying it three times in a row”. Now you’ve heard the name, you’re going to have to find out what it means. www. sososher. com
Hey guys, thanks for getting in touch! Looks like you also have a class act and I hope that our paths cross sometime. Catch up next time I'm in town maybe? Cheers "Svennis"
wish we'd know about you - we were over in August ('nuf said! DId you lot get washed out?)
Sounds good, and I'll look up that link you posted, later. I've just got home and its a case of 'I'm not here'.
Steve Cropper and etc (THE Blues Brothers lot) are going to be Guys band next year in March 2008, he's already recorded with 'em.
Sooooo
do you do the Bluze bros moves? Hope so, that's what makes 'em so great. I'm not too much into artists who just stand, although I know there's a place for them and its all fine.
But my heartland is for artists who FILL the stage, and take the audience with 'em. LOVE that.
ROFL! Polka even?!! (that was a snerty critic remark from Guy's diverse 3rd album "I expect he can even sing a polka". Some critics want the same type, the same theme, almost the same song, on every track. Which is fine.
But you don't do Caribbean? Why not a bit of reggae? Hey mun! (only kidding, but Guy got bored the other night and did his 'soulful ballad' (which is a little too soulful for me) reggae style - its on youtube. You never know, you might get converted and start with the dreadlocks!
Must get to play some of your songs, I actually am not here... really... I am knee deep in domestic stuff (bleh). Its just the ghosts of my fingers have wandered in and hit these keys - I swear!
Ahh we have a muso in the family who is into blues, must get him into here. We live on the 'Gold Coast' which really is a Miami type place/ or California, I guess. Tourists everywhere in a particular section - which us locals don't bother to go to.
thanks a lot for the request. I think your desicion was right......I hope evrything is going well with your project and maybe someday we could go down to New Orleans, where ev'ry little girl is Mississippi Queen... You guys drive the car and I will rest at the backseat....
yours sincerley
