House Of Icha: Mission Statement
Every wall is built brick by brick, every little brick contributes to the greatness of the wall. Which is just like our families, community and nation. We all know that the Black Family is in Crisis, but what are we doing about it? The House of Icha is a 'little brick' in the wall of our community and nation, and each of us are a'little brick' in the family. Every time we do something positive, say something positive, give something... we are actually helping to rebuild our family, community and nation. We are not perfect - far from it - but we are willing to stand up and share the little (or lot) that we have in order for us all to grow and develop and become a solid brick wall.

April 11th 2008 sees the 27th anniversary of the Brixton Riots. The Battle for Brixton was a pitched battle, fought between disgruntled youth, members the community, the police and anyone who represented "the system". Witness this history as told by those who were on the front line.

The aim of the show is to spread the good news that the original man has a Divine connection to the Most High God Allah, and that He wants to quicken the spirit of His mentally dead servant (specifically black) man and woman, once we agree to accept our own and be ourselves. This dynamic Word has the power to resurrect and restore the mizan (balance) in a world that has been purposely knocked out of alignment and kept in darkness, ignorance, arrogance and indifference. BRIEF BACKGROUND HISTORY
G8kr@sh Ragga Terror-I-S-T-S, formerly LFPD, were formed in 1986 when myself (known then as Lyrics Formula) and Tuffhead, grew tired of MC’ing on the South London sound-system circuit. We both knew we had something conscious to say and wanted a bigger audience. After splashing out on a Casio keyboard and a Roland 505 drum machine we embarked on making demos. DJT soon joined the team, and he introduced us “ragga man” to scratching and the general hip-hop flava. He quickly mastered the 505 drum machine and the two separate genres become the driving force behind our trademark hybrid which we affectionately called “Jubbirock”. We soon “linked” Gilly Banton our former mic partner from Peckham’s Viking sound. A whole collective soon followed: Rythm Doc, MC Hammer, Radical D, and DJPanic (RIP) soon joined the fold, followed by Designerwear and DJFredlox to complete the family line-up.
Incensed by the in-fighting on the London rap circuit, we embarked upon a huge task of attempting to bring the acrimonious London crews into a semblance of unity. The B.R.O.T.H.E.R. movement was our brain-child (Black Rhyme Organisation To Help Equal Rights). Hijack, London Possé, Cookie Crew, She Rockers and Demon Boyz, were just some of the big names who responded to our call to arms. We were also helped by Artist Against Aparthied Jerry Dammers and the late MP Bernie Grant. The single: "Beyond the16th Parallel" was the end result of our efforts in the hot summer of 1989. Sadly, g8kr@sh’s continued political outspokenness proved too much for A&R bosses in the heady days of the early 90’s. They wanted a more sellable “friendly" and commercial product. By the time the tracks of our forthcoming album (Sen Fe g8cr&sh) were good to go, record companies had stopped ringing.
