In March of 1999, a small group of young men and women were among the dozens of talented performers who moved to the Myrtle Beach, South Carolina area to work with the nationally acclaimed family theatres there. Out of this group there were three young men whose paths may have never crossed. But they had a rendezvous with fate.
They met at rehearsals when Rodney and Bryan were chosen to perform in the Summer of ’66, a "Grease-esque" Broadway-style musical at the Crook & Chase Theatre in Myrtle Beach. This production is based on a true story about a musical group called The Villagers, who were popular in the South Carolina area during the 60’s. Terry was hired as production manager in charge of sound for both the Summer of ’66 and Crook & Chase television show. By the time the show opened in May to public audiences Terry, Rodney, and Bryan were already friends and talking about their similar tastes in music. By summer they were writing songs and practicing almost every afternoon before and after their evening theatrical performance. It didn’t take long to realize there was something special about their musicianship and rich harmonies.
The members of October are no strangers to the stage. The combined credits of all the band members would make for a very long list. It would include appearances in or on: television, night clubs, music videos, theatrical performances, films, and large arenas around the world.
Bassist / Drummer / Guitarist and Jack of all trades; Terry Manfredi is a stage veteran. Born into a musical family he started performing professionally with his father and brother at the ripe old age of 8. By the age of 14 he was performing with his own group throughout West VA, PA and OH. At 18 he moved to Cleveland where he honed his art further. In the musical community he was known as "The Drummer’s Choice" for studio and live performance. Through the coming years he played with The Drifter’s, The Outsiders, and most notably in the premier Beatles tribute band "1964...The Tribute" where he portrayed Ringo Starr. Terry now lives in North Carolina.
October’s keyboards and acoustic guitar are handled by Rodney Ingle. Rodney was singing and harmonizing with his sister by the age of two and continued to show interests in music as he grew. He began writing songs, learning to play a variety of instruments and playing with a number of local bands throughout his early years and high school. After college, with a degree in Broadcast Communications (and four years of playing music on the college band circuit), Rodney began work as a photographer at a local television station in Wilmington NC. 3 years later, he left his job as reporter/anchor to follow music once again; this time to New York. There he continued to write music, do session work and run the jingle business he had started in Wilmington. He now resides in Nashville, TN.
Lead guitarist Bryan Graves began his musical and stage career at age 6 by performing with his famous dad; "The Dobro King" Josh Graves. Josh was an original member of the Flatt & Scruggs bluegrass team. Bryan toured nationally with his own band called London Angel, but the gig that brought the most notoriety was playing as Paul Stanley in the KISS Tribute shows. Stacked heels, makeup and tight pants took him all over the U.S., Japan, Korea and Canada, as the only KISS tribute show endorsed by KISS itself. His performances led to appearances on The Today Show and The Jenny Jones Show. He too calls Nashville, TN home.
