    Teen Book Reviewer's Interests
GeneralRed: The Next Generation of American Writers–Teenage Girls–On What Fires Up Their Lives Today:

“This book is amazing. Honest, hysterical, heartbreaking, uplifting-these essays come straight from the true teenage soul. Read this book!”

– Paul Feig, creator of the TV series FREAKS AND GEEKS

“It’s high time people stopped writing, talking, and worrying about teenage girls and just let those girls speak for themselves. This book, with its wonderfully free, captivating style, gives voice to many talented young essayists, who-either because of their suffering, their great wit, their sensitivity, their triumph, or some combination of all those things-richly deserve to be heard. My suspicion (my hope!) is to hear from them again and again, far into the future.”

– Elizabeth Gilbert, author of the New York Times bestseller EAT, PRAY, LOVE

“Each of these stories is a treasure, and readers will be grateful that these young women are willing to share them. I couldn’t say which is my favorite. It’s like comparing children: One stuns you with her wit and then another breaks your heart with her sensitivity.”

– Jeannette Walls, author of the New York Times bestseller THE GLASS CASTLE

“The honesty and beauty of the hilarious, heartbreaking, and often harrowing stories collected in RED are enough to give you hope for the young women who wrote these marvelous pieces, and for literature, and for us all.”

- Francine Prose, bestselling essayist, novelist, and author of READING LIKE A WRITER

About me:
My name is Jocelyn. I'm a book reviewer, reading mostly YA and middle grade fiction, as well as crossover titles (adult titles that will appeal to teens).

I will accept review copies; make sure to read the information at http://teenbookreview.wordpress.com/welcome-to-the-teen-book-review/ before sending me a message.

Check out my main blog at http://teenbookreview.wordpress.com.

My new year's resolution is to read 366 books this year. That's one a day, on average. Is it insane? Maybe. Is it doable? Maybe. Check my blog to track my progress with this goal (and my other relevant goals for 2008).

I'm also a writer--my first published piece is an essay in a book called Red: The Next Generation of American Writers–Teenage Girls–On What Fires Up Their Lives Today. Check out the "interests" section of my profile for more info. If you read it and like it, I'd love to hear from you.

Who I'd like to meet:
Anyone who has anything to do with reading or writing YA/teen books.

NOTE: My top friends are currently authors who have written books that I have recently read and loved.

Thanks for the add! If you haven’t already, please check out my novel, GETTING IN TUNE, and hear the fictional Killjoys at www. rogertrott. com. The story is about an angst-ridden guitarist who drags his band onto the road in search of the transcendent power of Pete Townshend’s Universal Chord. It’s a wild ride through the world of ‘70s rock & roll.

Good Morning!

I sent A Demon Awaits , to the printer on Sunday. I should have a proof by Friday. Can't wait.

I'm still sore from the Jimmy Fund Walk on Sunday and hoping that tomorrow I'll wake up feeling like my old self.

Have a great one.

I Curse Death

Jun 29 2008 7:31 PM

If Adam had never sinned in the Garden of Eden, would he still have died? If death came by sin and Jesus Christ defeated sin on the cross, what happened to death? In I Curse Death, author Donnell Duncan boldly answers these questions and many more. The message is simple: man was designed by God to be immortal and only lost that gift by falling into sin. Duncan demonstrates with scripture that the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ restored this gift to all those who believe..
