I am running for US Senate and having an absolute blast. Everywhere I
go-from Nashwauk to Minneapolis, Mankato to Moorhead-- I find huge
crowds of passionate supporters. Throughout the campaign,
I’ll use my MySpace profile to connect and energize voters
from around Minnesota and across the country.
From Hubert Humphrey to Paul Wellstone and now Amy Klobuchar and Tim
Walz, Minnesota's public servants might not always look and sound like
typical politicians--but they stand by their principles and lead by
their values. That's the kind of leader I think we need more of these
days, and that's the kind of Senator I'll be.
I have been married to my wife, Franni, for 31 years--many of them
happy. We are the proud parents of two wonderful children--and my
MySpace “friends”--Thomasin and Joe.
Campaigning keeps me pretty busy so I might not always have time to
reply to every wall post and message myself. My trusted Team Franken
interns will help me respond to some of these, but I will reply when I
have an opportunity. We’ll always let you know
who’s writing on your wall or sending you a message.
I cannot win this race alone. Become a friend, visit my website,
volunteer your time--we’d love to have you on Team Franken!
Al, I've been a supporter since Day 1 (I've had a poster up in my house window for months), but I have to say I'm especially proud/pleased that you were at the Minneapolis Pride Festival on Sunday. The GLBT community really appreciates your support! Thank you.
Hey Al! I am proud that you are standing up and making your voice known for MN. I am a nurse and we need healthcare for all! I know you will win! Have to be positive!
Thanks for the add Al. I'm sure you got a laugh from the message that I sent you...my best friend from MN has talked some sense into me. All the best to you and your run for the Senate.
Thanks for the add, Al! Even though I'm from Maryland, I'm hoping you'll win bigtime... and I'm 58 too, not a new/young voter at all. The Senate is national and we need you! Come on, Minnesotans, I'll be so proud of your electing such a brilliant and caring guy (I just know you will!). And btw, satire has a long history of effectiveness in politics. Besides, if Reagan could star in "Bedtime for Bonzo" who are the Republican Pols to say Al's candidacy isn't "serious"? That's pretty lame... but then, they are, aren't they?
Thanks so much for the add, Al! Even though I live in Kentucky, I'm pulling for you in the Minnesota primaries. If you are a U.S. Senator, you can make a difference for this entire country! You are the best Al!
Dear Mr. Franken. I just wanted to say congratulations on you’re big win this weekend! May you win the senate seat and carry the torch for the late great Sen. Paul Wellstone and his family. You can do it! People like you except Rush Limbaugh, but who cares about him! Good Luck! Joe from Iowa
Congratulations Al on the endorsement. Everyone is taking your campaign very seriously and I am positive that you will be elected Senator on account of it.
You are an inspiration to all of your fans and political followers...I can only imagine the impact you've had on your children! You're the best big guy!
Al, you are at minmum the sixth greatest man to walk the face of the Earth. I must now move my family back to Minnesota so that we may have the priveledge of casting our votes for you!
Thank you for the add! I went to college in Minnesota, and got married there, it is a state I've always loved and cared a lot about, and I would be proud to vote for you! I wish I could vote for you, but I'll be giving my support from afar.
I've spent the "Bush years" trying to leave no child behind in a country led by corporate executives seemingly indifferent to a variety of inconvenient truths. As a veteran educator grounded in technical expertise and practical experience, I am encouraged by people like yourself who still stand up for basic human rights. I wish you the best in your endeavors.
I invite you to visit the blogs on my profile page, where I have begun to share my perspective of No Child Left Behind.
Happy Birthday & Many, Many More!!!. Hmmmmmm, The communist party for America's future!!!!!????????, Taken from that 1975 SNL skit. Not the entire quote, But my thoughts on that early skit.
