| About Tazer |
At the end of 8th grade, the idea of forming a band was brought up by Ryan Tuchler and Stephen Sentelle, after writing "Unemployment Office" for a school project. Ryan Had been playing guitar for 3 or 4 years, and Stephen was in percussion at the middle school band. Ryan's younger brother, Eli, was just finishing up 5th grade, and had recently started playing bass, so we let him join. We heard that Brent Warner was pretty good at guitar, so we added him as well. We started practicing in early summer of 2005, at the time just for fun. Eli had the idea of calling us Tazer (electrically shocking music). Our first time playing in front of an audience was the next winter, at a Mainstream Music student performance(Ryan, Eli, and Brent took lessons from Greg Albert there). Since then, as our musical skills and tightness as a group developed, we started getting more gigs at the Frog Pond, The High School, and Champ's. We continued to write more songs and our style became more defined as we listened to more music. We played on the Tech radio station, WUVT, and got articles written in both the High School newspaper, and The Roanoke Times (Dec. 14, 2006). At around our 2nd anniversary in late May 2007, Brent left in order to pursue different directions in his musical career. We do not plan on replacing him. Tazer is now a "power trio" of Ryan Tuchler, Eli Tuchler, and Stephen Sentelle.
