Tanooki Rebirth is an experimental electronic music project that I have been working on since early 2006. My interest in electronic music began very early on when I first heard of people composing music that sounded like it was from Nintendo or Gameboy back around 1999. I would later learn that this music was being produced out of the underground group called the "demoscene". And it wasn't until recently that I began wanting to express myself through music and started researching those sounds I had heard long ago.
The music that I compose (or decompose) relates directly with my interests and personality. I have always considered myself a gamer more than a designer or artist. But even so, you will see my childhood and gaming influences in both my design, my art, and now through Tanooki Rebirth. This project isn't a passing experience for me, like my design and art, this music, these sounds are now a fundamental mindset for me. Although my sounds might fluctuate from song to song, there is a meaning for everything I do.
I quickly realized that just producing nintendo game remixes or just traditional 8-bit music wasn't completely fulfilling for me. I had to experiment, I had to expand, it was necessary for me to separate myself from the ongoing cliche.
Is Tanooki Rebirth music or just noise? They are both just sound, it is up to the listener to decide whether what they classify this experimentation in sound as.
yknow, i thought about that just yesterday... im really not sure, i just stopped talking to the guys who ran it then they disappeared all together then u never heard anything about it again....
haha, thanks. Yeah we posted our stuff on a site that allows people to post reviews about our songs and we're totally getting bashed hardcore. I think one said that bubble Bubble Man Man was the worst song they have ever heard haha. thanks for the kind words sire. Stay well. _Dr. Z
hahaha, We have all of the songs from the first album on mp3.com. Maybe we'll bring No More Fun in Beansville back to myspace for a little while just for you though. We're also posting a new song very soon. Keep your ears open yo. Stay well comrade. _Dr. Z
Thanks man. I like to think that I fall into the experimental catagory. Though I do tend to go either harsh noise or more dark ambient with noisescapes. Your music kicks ass. :)
i've always been a pretty hardcore gamer. these song just bring back alot of awesome memories. i love it. for a Metal-Head i have a pretty broad range of music i like. keep it up man!
cheers for the kind words mang. glad you like the beats. you noticing alot of uk chip artists or something? i'm relatively new to the scene so i could'nt say? path to final boss is definately a salty beat, love it. keep it locked.
but ehh, how would you like to be on an upcoming almost-done split? It's a 13-way, but a few of the bands aren't replying back to be about it, so I'm kicking them off....hahaha....anyway you don't have to make a new song or anything, just get back to me if you wanna be on it =P
eh. I didn't like the old one, I didn't want to be seen as juvenile anymore. Plus every shitty band coming out is putting 'massacre' in their band name and that was really annoying. I still wanted OEPM, and I just happened to make the best possible outcome of the letters...
Not much, and you? I finally got around to updating the page, so now we have a song and artist of the month section. ^_^; It's all shit anyway, but it makes me feel accomplished. I've been really busy lately, though, and not having a computer really doesn't help... D:
