About me: I'm a novelist and screenwriter; I have written eight novels and one nonfiction memoir, two of which--MY SOUL TO KEEP and THE GOOD HOUSE--are in active development at Fox Searchlight.
My newest novel, BLOOD COLONY, is the third in my African Immortals series, but written as a stand-alone novel: The year is 2015, and immortals are distributing their healing blood...but with dire consequences. Check out this video to hear more about it!
Who I'd like to meet: Working screenwriters and producers--musicians with a sense of humor for occasional jam sessions. Also, readers are welcome to come say hi.
Thank you for another great thriller with the immortals who carry the "Living Blood". I loved 'Blood Colony' and I can't wait to see what happens over the next ten years of Fana's life. Onelove, Leo
So, I finally finished Blood Colony and it was a great read. I think I played myself by continuously starting and stopping. It's like I was so excited I could barely pick the book up and then I didn't want it to end.
Please tell me there is another book that follows this?! I thought it would be much more...final at the end. It really only went the way it should; Nothing has ever been just ok for your characters Dawit, Jessica, and Fana.
Thanks for adding me! I've read everything you have ever published! I'm a true fan of your work and I've gotten all of my friends and family hooked on your books. I adore your mind and I love being transported into the worlds of your characters; especially my girl, Fana. I loved Blood Colony and I am anxiously awaiting your next novel -whatever it is. I would love to see the "blood" books adapted onto the big screen. It would be remarkable! Again, thank you for your talent, imagination and creativity. You have inspired so much in me.
I am reading blood colony right now, literally, and have been laughing like mad every time shiela talks. We unitarians like being included. Thanks. Her speech at the diner scene sounds like a commercial for first unitarian in los angeles, which does meet at 11. I've been trying to get to that church for a while now but its a drive for me. Anyway, got more reading to do. Book is wonderful.
allo Tananarive, saw mention of the new book arriving and that made me smile. wanted to leave my best wishes and say thank you ahead of time. can't wait to flip the first page. blessings. stay in joy... She @TFS
Finally we got to meet face to face! Today will go down in history for me as one of the most important days for me as a writer. The day I met one of my primary inspirations! I wish you every success with Blood Colony and I wish you health and prosperity as you tour this summer.
Thanks for accepting the myspacial friendship, Tananarive, and here’s wishing you a happy week, heavy with hilarious hoaxes, hospitable headless horsemen, heroic hobgoblins, hopeful harpy healers, horrifying heaps of horseradish, humorous hamster hags, haunted hairy harmonicas, and heavenly hellhounds howling heartfelt haikus about horoscope-handy hippopotami.
I was wondering if you'd do me the honor of checking out my short horror story Camp. I’d love to hear what you think.
Happytimes, -Jeremy :)
Peter: Oh my god, Brian, there's a message in my Alphabits. It says, 'Oooooo.' Brian: Peter, those are Cheerios.
I hope this post finds you well. Just stopping through to encourage you to WRITE and SHINE.

i just wanted to say thank you for taking your time to speak at the Minneapolis Luncheon. That was my first luncheon with my mother. year after year she used to go without me and finally decided i need to come along. I loved it!!! Hearing your words for the young people was very inspiring and i will take them with me as i travel into adulthood!
I am sure I will enjoy it. My Soul To Keep and The Living Blood are two of the best horror novels I ever read, because they do so much more than just horror. Great stuff.
Thank you so much for the add! We are sure that as soon as our members finish "My Soul To Keep", they will gobble up the sequels as well.
As a founder of our bookclub, I have to say that I have all of your work in my library and I couldnt wait to get the chance to share present it to our club.
Hey tananarive, I am a little behind on reading Prose and finally read Casanegra. I really enjoyed the book, I've been on a Noir kick myself so I really felt at home with the narrative.
