As Dave Sharp once said, It's been a long time coming, and it's good to be back!
I've been making music since the dark-ages of the 4-Track, but in the summer of 2006 two things happened.
Shipwrecked between trains in Alicante, on the way to a wedding in Murcia, Salome and I wandered into Fnac, where I impulse-bought Guapa by Spanish pop-rock band La Oreja de Van Gogh. Over the following three-months, I listened to that album well over one-hundred times (my MP3 player was counting!) which I guess makes it officially my favorite album of the past 20 years. It is, quite simply, perfect pop music - beautiful lyrics, wonderful melodies and subtly brilliant instrumental work that never gets in the way of the song. It was the kind of music I'd always dreamed of making.
Then, in September, I finally got fed-up with trying to do "home" things on my Linux laptop. It was making movies that drove me over the edge - it worked, but it just wasn't intuitive or stable. So, keeping Linux for work, I bought a Mac for home, and started playing around with Garage Band.
And here we are...
All Of Our Lives is a true story, more or less. The rest are fictions of one kind or another, although a couple of people might recognize bits of themselves in Riverboat. So, download and enjoy. You are free to redistribute all recordings for non-commercial purposes. The songs themselves remain subject to the usual copyrights.
Keep on rocking in the free world!
