When I listen to the radio today I find myself constantly changing the station and after frustration sets in I just pop a cd into the disc player because I hear degrading lyrics, unnecessary use of foul language, and a lack of creativity, original music. Musicians and other entertainers with what Hollywood calls star quality are leaders whether they want to be or not and our leadership is based on what we represent as an image and artist. I realize that everyone plays a part in this diverse world and that is what makes life so interesting but there is definitely an imbalance in the playing field when it comes to music. Our children deserve the opportunity to hear the other side of life that does not include women bashing men, men degrading women, the glorification of money, and the distasteful promotion of unmarried sexual relationships. I often hear "but sex is what sells" and this type of music is what they want to hear. My response to that is: If one has a child one has to provide food for that child usually having one kitchen in the house. If the child is hungry they are going to pick their favorite food from what has been provided even if it is all vegetables and fruits. It is a mistake to let a child control what they eat and tell the maker what to spend their hard earned money on. It is a mistake to assume that the masses want to buy nothing but trashy records because the biggest selling records of all time that are still selling have nothing to do with sex. They are songs by great artists and composers like Quincy Jones, Stevie Wonder, Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson, Patti Labelle, Bob Marley, Frank Sinatra, etc. Love=longevity and lust=destruction and has the record industry not been destroyed over the years by technology? This did not happen by mistake. I long to hear great songs again and to be a part of making great music. What is a Christian pop artist? an artist that loves and worships the most high and his son Christ Jesus and that regardless of the rhythm will not write or perform anything that contradicts his love and his messages.

I cannot be in denial and put all Christian artists as my influences. A lot of my musical development was inspired by pop, jazz, R&B, and being a singer in great choirs.

There comes a time in every woman's life when she has to take a close look at herself. Not at her circumstance, not at what she did, not how unfair life is, or at who made you do it. She has to just look at herself in all her glory and imperfection. Have you ever admired a woman who has been through changes in her life? Or have you made up in your mind that she is just messed up. Before you make this mistake, take a closer look. A woman who has endured the most unusual life is someone of wisdom, someone who has been chosen by God to go through things that have made her stronger.
Think of all the great women in the Bible: Mary Magdalene , Ruth and Naomi, the woman with an issue of blood, and Esther, to name a few. Mary was a prostitute, a very uneasy woman. But by the time Jesus was done with her, she was His closest follower. Esther was unfortunate in marrying an abusive man, but by the time God was done with her, she had married one of the wealthiest men in the land.
Women are so quick to beat the next one down instead of trying to hold her up. Before you wonder, " What's up with her?" ask yourself, "What's up with me?" That woman could be my mother, sister, aunt, in-law, stepmother, niece, grandmother, great-grandmother, neighbor, friend, or co-worker, etc. That woman could be ME.
Women are the carriers of life, not the channels of death. Let's build and encourage each other, as did Ruth and Naomi. Pass this to all the women in your life. Encourage and love, forgive and forget, and trust that the woman that receives this will be touched in some way.

Not the peace that the world has to offer. The peace the world offers is a false peace, a way of escape. The Peace I'm talking about is True Peace. The Peace Jesus Christ Giveth.
This peace is the prevailing peace that dominates ,a victorius triumphant peace , a peace that is undefeatable,an inner stillness, quietness, and survives the most differcult trials. A steadfast and unshakeable internal peace that is so amazing that no matter what kind of turmoil, what kind of chaos is arround you, you have the indwelling eternal power and light of Gods presence to see you through any and all circumstances, and situations that appear in your life. Jesus is talking about, His Prevailing Peace that takes you through every step of the way, through all the storms of life. The peace that keeps you stedfast and on course unto victory.
