Susan Tucker is the author of two acclaimed books on songwriting, The Soul of a Writer and The Secrets of Songwriting. She has interviewed and studied hit songwriters and takes their wisdoms and insights to aspiring songwriters through an occasional workshop and The Songwriters Connection Free Weekly E-Tips.
A longtime songwriter, singer and musician herself, Susan became curious about the process of songwriting. In particular, she wanted a deeper understanding of other songwriters what makes them tick, and why some become successful while others struggle. She embarked on an intensive journey into the hearts, souls and psyches of songwriters, and has made a career of sharing her insights, wisdom and expertise with others.
In her first book, The Soul of a Writer (Journey Publishing Company, Nashville, 1996), Susan explores the similarities and differences between songwriters processes and in her second book, The Secrets of Songwriting (Allworth Press, New York) she goes even further in-depth, interviewing 13 major hit songwriters to search for the mysterious ingredient that takes a songwriter from good to great. From being having songwriting as a hobby to making millions of dollars at it.
Susan is owner of an artist management firm and works exclusively with country artist, Rachel Williams.
