   About Steve McCabe

Over the last 25-years, thanks to God, I've been blessed with a great wife and family and an interesting music career

During the past two decades, I've produced music for advertising with over 150 recording artists -- a veritable Who's Who of legendary music talent that includes the late Wilson Pickett, Sam Moore, Bo Diddley, Stephen Stills, Rod Stewart, Paul Rodgers, Joe Walsh, Dave Edmunds, Leon Russell, the Allman Brothers, Eric Burdon, The Chieftains, the late Robert Palmer, Johnny Winter, Bootsy Collins, Phillip Bailey, Nile Rodgers, George Jones, Dr. John, Etta James, The Neville Brothers, B.B. King, The Judds, Marty Stewart, Vince Gill, George Clinton, and the late Carl Perkins.....and many others.

I've also been music director on tour-sponsorship ad campaigns for The Rolling Stones, The Who, Rod Stewart, and Jimmy Page and Robert Plant.

My musical journey includes years of playing and recording with bands in St. Louis and NYC. In the mid-80's, I began writing, recording and producing music for advertising. I started working at an ad agency in 1985.

I began as a copywriter at DMB&B/St. Louis where I became the first-ever music producer on the Budweiser account and their first head of music production. I then moved to New York to work on the Miller Beer, Texaco, Peace Corps and Philips Electronics accounts at Backer Speilvogel Bates where I was vice president/senior copywriter/senior broadcast and music producer from 1989-95.

In 1995 I joined Y&R/NY as vice president/music director where I was music director for KFC, AT&T, Showtime, Xerox and American Express. Finally after a decade on Madison Avenue, I moved to Minneapolis to become the first director of music at Campbell Mithun Esty.

Most recently I served as associate creative director/senior copywriter/senior broadcast producer at one of the country's oldest ad agencies - Doe Anderson Advertising in Louisville, KY from 2000-2005.

In 2005, I started Steve McCabe Music and built a Protools Studio. I've been writing and recording music for local and national advertising clients and recording and producing CD projects for musician friends. I finished producing the first CD in the new studio in May of 2006. I've got 2 other CD projects in the works right now.

All of these musical and professional opportunities have been a blessing - but the most important has been my relationship with God and my faith in Jesus.

Hey There.

Myspace just relinquished my account after it was held captive by some hacker for a few weeks.

If you happened to get any condom or male enhancement offers I'd like to either apologize or hope everything worked out alright, I'll let you choose.

BTW, I started using my blogging tool and have been having a lot of fun with it. I hope you'll come by and subscribe when you get the chance.

Have a great summer.
