I never want to write a song just for sake of writing a song. I think of a song as a chance to tell the world something for 3 minutes, and those 3 minutes shouldn't be wasted.
Hey everyone! My name is Stephanie Mae and I am a singer-songwriter. I write, arrange, play, perform, and produce my songs. I play the piano and the guitar. Simultaneously while self-managing my music career (with the help of my mom and dad of course :) ) I also attend a university in California and am pursuing a B.S. in Biomechanical Engineering.
I have been singing all my life and was first exposed to music at a young age when my mom would play the guitar and teach me the ABC's. When I was little, I would spend hours at a time sitting on my mom and dad's bed listening to the radio, which played a lot of songs by Mariah Carey and other R&B artists. I also remember my mom would play CD's of Sheryl Crow, the Eagles, and Celine Dion in the house (to this day these CD's still bring back childhood memories). When I was a sophomore in high school, I was inspired by Michelle Branch and decided to teach myself how to play the guitar. I started writing songs but kept them to myself and didn't really tell anyone. It wasn't until junior year of high school that I decided to perform one of my songs at an event called "Concert in the Quad." After that performance, I got a lot of positive feedback and decided to play more shows. Since then, I have performed several shows in Arizona and California and was an opening act for Ted Leo and the Pharmacists in 2007.
I am very proud of my filipino heritage. My mom and I have also organized three Filipino Benefit Concerts, raising over $2000 to provide scholarships to Filipino school students.
I just recently released my independent album January 2008, entitled "Poker Face."

Hey! I'm glad you wrote! I haven't talked to you in forever! I am not in college yet but I will be going next semester. I decided to take some time off from school to get some things together. I can't wait to go though because now I am bored out of my mind! I can't believe you're a senior already! That is crazy. How is everything going for you? You seem super busy with school and the music and everything. How is all that going? By the way, I love the songs that you have posted on your site!

All in the Name of Freedom
I was walking down the road Thinkin’ bout this heavy load That we’re all carrying yes indeed I crossed Crosby, Hodges Milling Company I was reading a sign, Jazz Feeds When I realized I was really at Fort Lee
All in the name of freedom All in the name of freedom
I felt the acid rain fallin’ down It made my face want to wrinkle up and frown It made me wonder why I had to sit here and drown You know the pollution you see It’s not right for you or for me Don’t you think it’s a little of this world’s insanity
All in the name of freedom All in the name of freedom
You ask me about big brother you see Don’t you realize he’s in the seeds Under the name computer you see The terrorists are dying to kill us all Don’t they think we realize the score We all stand for one thing more freedom
All in the name of freedom All in the name of freedom
Don’t you realize what it can do When they label me and you Don’t you think its time for that to be all through Take the time and open your eyes Maybe we can make this a paradise Where our children can live and raise some of their own
All in the name of freedom It’s all in the name of freedom
Hi Stephanie, Hey hope you're having an awesome weekend! Tear It Up!!! Peace & Love Lee Here's another one that's going on the C&W Album, This is the song Curtis Mayfield said is a hit!
Unpredictable
Unpredictable the word love It's so unpredictable You never know what's in store When love knocks down your door Seems my love's torn away So much of my heart today
Unpredictable the word love It's so unpredictable
Lack of understanding seems to be the thing That always steps in between Lovers that think they've got the world on a string And then they lose everything Lord knows we've been there before And it hurts so much when they close the door
Unpredictable the word love It's so unpredictable
So to lovers that love tonight Try and understand and it'll be alright You see that love plays it's games And your mind, it tries to rearrange So be strong in your love Always put the other one above you

WOMAN!!!!! Look, ok, as much as you'd like to think that I have all the time in the world and that you may or may not be someone special, I called you TWICE when I was on the train to no avail! So, I am assuming that you are off gallivanting at Walmart or Green Valley. So, I'll be busy tonight but I will call you tomorrow and we can fill each other up with our lives and what not. Um...ok, I guess I can stop harassing you. Welcome back to Payson, I know it's slow but it'll be nice to be at home. Love you much and talk to you soon. BYE!!!!

Grandpa went to church With a Bible in his hand A banjo over his shoulder He was a singing religious man Grandma worked at home Makin' moonshine in the barn She covered up the smell By boilin' lots of lard
Country Roots thoughts of home I'm going back I'm not alone
Daddy played hermonica On the local radio station He just Loved to play Would always accept an invitation Momma played dress up She was that moldeling kind Sometimes you could hear her sing I'm walkin' down the line
Country Roots thoughts of home I'm going back I'm not alone
Grandpa went to Heaven A bullet got him in the head Grandma worked so hard Lord raisian'all those kids Daddy played guitar He sang and made funny jokes They labeled him a Country Star For pleasing all the folks
Country Roots thoughts of home I'm going back I'm not alone
Daddy shot a man For grabbin' hold of me They said it was justified Gave him his gun, and set him free We jumped a freight train So we could get away We both got so drunk Man what a hell of a day
Country Roots thoughts of home I'm going back I'm not alone
Momma's growin' old God Bless her soul You can still hear her sing Amazing Grace you know Now as for me I wrote this song for you All about the truth Of my country roots
