State Of Integrity formed in early 2003 in the Bayside area of Brisbane, Australia. The first line up consisted of Aaron Franklin (vocals), Ben Clayphan(bass), Nick Rhodes (drums)
and Brendan Rhodes (guitar).The style of music they play is a blend of traditional
thrash,mid 90's groove and melodic death metal twisted with pure mosh aggression. S.O.I have been inspired to play this style of
music by the bands they listened to growing up such as Metallica, Pantera, Sepultura,
In Flames, Obituary and Slayer.
The band played their first show in September 2003 and continued
to play shows throughout 2004 in the process gathering a healthy and loyal
fan base due to their high energy and chaotic shows. During 2004 S.O.I played there first international support for Exhumed(USA) as well as playing with many local and interstate bands. 2005 seen the band in the
studio for the third time in eighteen months, during that time doing two demos
and also recording their full length album. Recording for the album started
in January, proceeded through February with the mixing and mastering finished in March of 05. The debut album
entitled The Fourth Season Of Revelations, was released in stores June 12th
2005 through MGM distribution.
Throughout 2005 the band played several
shows across Australia in support of the full length album as well as completing their first international
tour in September as the main support for New Zealand heavyweights 8 Foot
Sativa. The tour took in four high profile shows which included city's Auckland, Wellington,
Christchurch and Dunedin.
During 2006 they also released the Fourth Season of Revelations in the USA in august 2006 via Sinbad productions.SOI then embarked on their 2nd national tour of New Zealand supporting deathsters Sinate (featuring ex-8 Foot Sativa members) in November 2006 and will also release debut album The Fourth Season Of Revelations in New Zealand through Migrain distribution.The band were also busy during 2006-2007 writting the new material for the 2nd release.
Some of the shows the band have played to date have included supporting legend german thrash band Sodom in June 07,were the headlining QLD act for the Abducted metal festival in July 07,as well as the support for metals fast rising stars Job For A Cowboy (USA) in September 07,also playing with The Berzerker in December 07.
Febuary 2008 was the announcement for the departure of one of the bands founding members Ben Clayphan(Bass)Due to personal and family commitments, Ben decided to depart S.O.I on the very best of terms for him and the band.Ben played his last 4 shows with the band throughout April 2008 which also saw S.O.I return to New Zealand for the 3rd time for 2 shows only in city's Auckland and Hamilton.Ben's fulltime replacement came in Andrew Morriss who was from local band Hallows End.
State Of Integrity's goals have always been to get their music out there,
play as many gigs as possible and have a good time whilst doing what they love most creating and playing heavy music.
