About me:
The Stafford Arts Collective works to support local art by developing spaces and events that serve both artists and the wider community. Just like Stephanie Summers described in the Hartford Courant article about Stafford’s artistic flair, “the interest in arts in this mostly blue-collar town comes from the ground up.” Learn more about our first building project to bring more art in a big way to downtown Stafford.
What is the Four Pillars?
The Four Pillars combines studio space and an exhibition gallery in a 19th-century mill on the riverfront. Responding to calls from area artists for a place to work, a group of artists and musicians called the Stafford Arts Collective is developing this cooperative center to make and show their art.
We will showcase art from paintings and photographs to films and live music. We will provide large spaces for artists to work on their stuff and collaborate with each other. Musicians can use practice rooms and a recording studio for jamming and producing. The Four Pillars gallery space will host art openings, workshops, film screenings, plays, open mics, and live music.
As part of the “art wave” in Stafford, we serve artists with space to make and sell their work and we serve the community with an event center for entertainment and learning. Keep your eyes open for how you can get involved.
