Motorhead "Motörizer": The new studio album worldwide on Steamhammer / SPV!
Release Dates - USA/Canada August 26th / Germany August 29th / Europe September 1st (available as limited first edition digipak, double gatefold LP and download)

Motörhead - a name that stands on it's own, a band that lives according to their own rules. A band that has never sacrificed anything and has always remained true to what they are. Lemmy Kilmister, Mikkey Dee and Phil Campbell - what you see is what you get! Lemmy's enthronement as an Icon of Rock happened a while ago and proves that Rock and Roll is still alive and exhilarating. ( on June 16th Lemmy just received the MoJo Icon Award in the UK)

Fans, new and old, have been bowing to and worshipping Motörhead for over 30 years. Fellow musicians - like Dave Grohl, Ozzy Osbourne, The Ramones, Metallica have all payed tribute to the Motörhead legend - in one way or another.

Lemmy is the undisputed head, gruff and with the typical British humor (despite calling L.A. his home for more than 18 years). Phil Campbell, who has been with the band since 1984, is like a fine red wine - getting better each year, while Mikkey Dee (with the band since 1992) is described by Lemmy: "Mikkey is fantastic, he's 100% sure of himself, and knows he's the best drummer in the world." The infamous "We Are Motörhead And Play Rock 'n Roll" trio is still a power-horse that won't slow down. More and more people are enthralled by their music and personalities.

Motörhead is without a doubt one of the most respected rock bands in the world and made it clear to everyone when they finally received a well deserved Grammy in 2005 for Best Metal Performance.

Motörizer, a meaty, dangerous rock record, is Motörhead's 24th album and as you will hear - the band is always good for surprises! One gets the feeling that they have not yet reached the peak of their musical output. Like Mikkey Dee says: "A kick ass mother**ing record - definitely one of the wider-ranged Motörhead records ever released."

Motörizer delivers 11 brilliant brand new songs in a never before Motörhead variety, ready to rock the house. The album was again produced by Cameron Webb (Social Distortion, Zebrahead, Papa Roach), who produced the last two Motörhead releases, and much of the recording took place at FooFighter Dave Grohl's 606 studios in Los Angeles.

Lemmy Kilmister: ' This is yet another great album from me and the chaps. I think you should get 3 copies each. Buy it and avoid embarrassment later'.

"Motörizer" Tracklisting: (Teach You How To) Sing The Blues / Time Is Right / We Are The Last / Runaround Man / English Rose / Rock Out / 1000 Names / When The Eagle Screams / Don’t Die Ashamed / Back On The Chain / Buried Alive

Motörhead is embarking on an US tour together with Heaven & Hell and Judas Priest, already called "Tour of the Year." In the fall, they hit the European countries to present Motörizer with Saxon and Danko Jones in the UK and Germany , in Scandinavia they have recruited Airbourne and Witchcraft - both line-ups will make sure the venues are sold out.

Alice Cooper's Serial Killer Spider Comes Along – July 29

There are only a handful of rock artists that have proven to be as enduring and influential as Alice Cooper has over the years. Name just about any hard rock artist, and they’ve probably borrowed a thing or two from Alice. And on his latest studio recording, ‘Along Came A Spider’ (issued via SPV Records on July 29), Alice has returned with a concept album with a sinister streak.

‘A dark and menacing album for dark and menacing times’ is perhaps the most fitting description for Alice’s 25th studio album overall, as a chilling conceptual thread runs through the songs, which are told through the voice of a serial killer named Spider - one that Alice describes as “an arachnophobic psychopath” (in the song “Catch Me If You Can”). Alice, the master storyteller, weaves a web of danger, intrigue and death that rivals his best work.

Co-produced by Danny Saber, Greg Hampton and Alice himself, ‘Along Came A Spider’ manages to marry both vintage and modern day Alice. As theatrical as ever, the album is a sonic combination of familiar Alice musical elements from albums as diverse as ‘Billion Dollar Babies’ and ‘Brutal Planet,' with the storytelling of "Welcome To My Nightmare," capturing the historic dark side of Alice in peak form, an instantly recognizable presence that will be welcomed by his fans. Joining Alice on the album are members of his touring band - longtime Alice drummer Eric Singer, bassist Chuck Garric, and guitarists Keri Kelli and Jason Hook, with additional contributions from others, including Saber, Hampton, and renowned backing vocalist Bernard Fowler. Slash also lends some guitar style to "Vengeance Is Mine."

Saber and Hampton co-wrote several of the album's songs with Alice, while others were collaborations with Alice's band members. Danny Saber, best known for his role as member and producer of Black Grape, has also worked with many other artists, including the Rolling Stones, Ozzy Osbourne, and David Bowie, while Greg Hampton's been working on a new album project teaming up Buckethead and Bootsy Collins.

Who else but Alice Cooper, with ‘Along Came A Spider,' would create a "love story" about a serial killer named Spider? His trademark is wrapping his victims in silk, and his victims are specifically chosen to feed his hunger to kill. But, upon meeting his (possibly) last victim, he falls in love with her and cannot kill to complete his plan. That could be his demise.

Though it is often said about artists with as rich a history as Alice that their newest albums capture the essence of their greatest work, it may honestly be proposed that ‘Along Came A Spider’ does exactly that. It's got hard rock with hooks, an Alice trademark (“Vengeance is Mine,” “I Know Where You Live”), classic balladry, another Alice trademark (“Killed by Love,” “Salvation”), and always with an overtone of evil, yet another Alice tradmark. Throughout the album, Alice BECOMES Spider, telling the story of a cold-blooded killer to life vocally, as if this were the soundtrack to an as-yet unmade horror film.

Before such theatrical rockers as David Bowie, the New York Dolls, Kiss, Slipknot, Rob Zombie, and Marilyn Manson, there was Alice Cooper. The original Alice Cooper group quickly became despised by adults and authority figures, while being idolized by teens and rock fans everywhere, on the strength of a succession of all-time classic albums ('Love It to Death,’ ‘Killer,’ ‘School’s Out,’ ‘Billion Dollar Babies,’ etc.) and anthems (“I’m Eighteen,” “Under My Wheels,” “School’s Out,” "Elected," “No More Mr. Nice Guy,” etc.). Alice had continued success as a solo artist, releasing successful albums like ‘Welcome To My Nightmare' and 'Trash,' featuring classic hits such as "Only Women Bleed," "I Never Cry," and "Poison." All one has to do is look at the many other artists that have covered Alice to understand how far reaching his influence is – the list is endless -- or just keep in mind that Johnny Rotten auditioned for the Sex Pistols to the tune of "I'm Eighteen.

Track Listing:
1. Prologue/I Know Where You Live
2. Vengeance Is Mine
3. Wake The Dead
4. Catch Me If You Can
5. (In Touch With) Your Feminine Side
6. Wrapped In Silk
7. Killed By Love
8. I’m Hungry
9. The One That Got Away
10. Salvation
11. I Am The Spider/Epilogue

EVERGREY HAVE SIGNED WITH STEAMHAMMER/SPV
New album Torn out in early September

Following intense and very constructive discussions, Steamhammer/SPV have announced their future collaboration with Swedish dark melodic metal act, Evergrey. The deal includes not only the group’s brand-new studio album, Torn, which will arrive at the stores at the beginning of September, but also Evergrey’s complete back catalogue. SPV Head of Labels, Ulrike Rudolph says: “We are all happy to welcome Evergrey to the SPV/Steamhammer Family, and are looking forward to a great future together.” Evergrey mastermind Tom S. Englund is also looking forward to a productive cooperation with Steamhammer, explaining: “After long and intense negotiations, we feel that we have arrived at optimum conditions for everybody involved. We are confident that Evergrey will continue to grow artistically under the terms of this contract, that SPV will enjoy our cooperation and – this is definitely the most important aspect – that our fans will thoroughly benefit from the new deal.”

The first stage of this ambitious target will see the release of Evergrey’s new studio album, Torn, at the beginning of September, featuring eleven compositions, described by Englund as a “modern mix of In Search Of Truth and Recreation Day”. “The tracks are all guitar-oriented and very atmospheric. They have exactly the sound that our fans expect from us.” According to Englund, the slightly more experimental direction of Evergrey’s previous release, Monday Morning Apocalypse, has given way again to old strengths and virtues. “Two years ago we needed an album with a slightly different approach and an expensive producer, just to find out how that sort of thing works. It was the right album at the time, but now we have returned to our typical trademarks.” This is one of the reasons why the tracks on Torn were self-produced by Englund together with drummer Jonas Ekdahl. In addition, the band has a new bassist, Fredrik Larsson having been replaced by former Stratovarius musician Jari Kainulainen.

Since the band arrived on the scene in 1998, Evergrey have brought out six studio albums and one live cut. All of them made the top 20 in their native Sweden and the last two made the top 10 (no. 6 and 3, respectively). On top of that, their DVD was number 1 for four weeks and nominated for a Grammy in Sweden. The band has toured around the globe several times, together with In Flames, Nevermore, Throwdown, Arch Enemy, Children of Bodom and Iced Earth, among others. Along with Torn, their new contract with Steamhammer/SPV includes the band’s complete back catalogue, so top-quality reissues featuring a selection of bonus tracks are likely in future. “There is so much additional material for each album that we could theoretically re-release it on an extra DVD. Whatever we manage to do – premium reissues are certainly a possibility.”

MOTORHEAD ON 'METAL MASTERS TOUR’ WITH METAL LEGENDS JUDAS PRIEST, HEAVEN & HELL, AND TESTAMENT UNITE FOR

After weeks of speculation, Live Nation has put together a killer package that is bound to go down as the heavy metal event of 2008 - Judas Priest, Heaven and Hell, Motorhead and Testament will be touring together for the first time.

Dubbed ‘The Metal Masters Tour,’ the fifteen-date U.S. trek kicks off August 6th at the Susquehanna Bank Center in Camden, New Jersey. Tickets go on sale to the public beginning this weekend at www.livenation.com.

Judas Priest will be supporting their epic concept album, ‘Nostradamus,’ arriving June 17th via Epic Records, which tells the tale of the renowned 16th century prophet. A few tracks from ‘Nostradamus’ will make their in-concert debut on ‘The Metal Masters Tour,’ but the majority of Priest’s set list will include some of metal’s all-time classics, as well as fan favorites that span the quintet’s entire career. Without a doubt, this will be one of Priest’s most powerful sets ever.

As a ‘sneak peak treat’ to fans starved for a musical taster, the first cut off the new album will make its world premiere debut as exclusive free MP3 download starting today exclusively at www.livenation.com/judaspriest.

Heaven & Hell will be supporting the release of ‘The Rules Of Hell,’ a five-CD boxed set available July 22nd from Rhino Records, which features re-mastered versions of all four Dio-era Black Sabbath albums (‘Heaven and Hell,’ ‘Mob Rules,’ ‘Live Evil’ and ‘Dehumanizer’) in a deluxe package with new liner notes.

Perennial road rats Motorhead will be offering a blistering barnstormer of a set spanning more than three decades of molar-rattling biker metal. A new studio album - the 20th of their storied career - is currently being recorded at their old pal Dave Grohl’s studio with an August release date targeted. Frontman Lemmy, named by the U.K.’s Guardian newspaper as “the nation’s greatest living Englishman,” blairs out, "Here it comes everybody, the test of your Metalness in 2008 and the years to come! Come one come all and be abused!"

Rounding out the line-up will be legendary thrash metal titans Testament, whose new album, ‘The Formation of Damnation,’ (April 29th) displays Testament as the quintessential modern heavy metal band, whose experience and accumulated skill allows them to attack with reserves of anger, energy and finesse that make them more powerful than ever. Lead singer Chuck Billy says, “Uniting these bands is the heavy metal event of generations. We are so proud to be a part of it.”

Although all four bands may represent different subgenres of heavy metal, all four have one thing in common – they have stuck to their stylistic guns through thick and thin, and have remained true to the metal form.

And soon, band and fan will be united as one on ‘The Metal Masters Tour.’

“As ever, we look forward to screaming out loud with our metal maniac fans when we hit the road,” enthuses Priest singer, Rob Halford. “Thank you once again for your devotion and support. The Priest is back!”

This tour will be limited to fifteen very special engagements, and Citi cardmembers will have pre-sale access to tickets through Citi's Private Pass® Program, available to all Citi cardmembers at www.privatepass.citi.com.

Metal maniacs seeking the ultimate concert experience can access unique VIP ticket and fan experience packages that offer premium seats, meet & greets, pre-concert parties and more brought to you by the band's official websites, www.judaspriest.com and www.heavenandhelllive.com. VIP packages for the first events will be on sale by 10 a.m eastern time on Friday, April 25th. Also, not all VIP packages are the same, so be sure to pick the right one that suits you best.
