The Muncie Southside High School "Spirit Of South" Band and Guard, is considered one of the top bands in Indiana. Consisting of just over 150 students, the Spirit Of South band continue to excel to the highest of standards. Forged from dedication, hard work and quality leadership along with outstanding support from our band boosters, our parents, and our Community.
The cornerstone and legacy of the Muncie Southside High School Band and Guard program is striving for excellence through dedication, learning, experience, and a team effort from students, boosters, and staff.
Hard-working students, dedicated staff, involved and active parents, and a supportive administration and community, all combine to make it possible for the Spirit Of South Band and Guard Program to offer an outstanding array of musical opportunities. Our students are expected to set and reach high goals for themselves and their program, and the rewards of meeting those expectations are immeasureable.
It is also important to note that one side benefit to the total band and guard experience is the fun and lasting relationships and memories that are developed by students and parents.

It's just a suggestion but why not as a memorial name the 1st place trophy at the Spirit of Sound band contest after Tom? I think that would be fitting.

hey my dad painted the windows of our van white..adn stuff...and they say go spirit of south ..bu tnow he wants th ewhole band adn gaurd to sign the windows in permanent marker..*it will wash off* at practice monday its for state and pistures..so yeah ..lol
