Band members, in no particular order: Kiki, Kerri, Ric, Madison, Jon, PJ, Mark, Eris, Kathy.
Kiki lives in Braselton, Georgia, and spends her days raising her son, writing music, singing, minding her three cats, and writing. She is one of the founding members of the band. She studiously avoids housework and anything resembling a regular job. She often spends time with Kerri and her family, sometimes joining their dog Loki in a long howl.
Kerri lives in Norcross, Georgia, and spends her days with her new baby girl, Ellie. She is an artist with unique style and has designed most of the Spiral Rhythm album covers. She is in the process of publishing a number of coloring books for children and adults alike, and when she has time, she paints paper, canvas, glass, or anything that will sit still long enough. She has been known to henna a drum head or two, as well. She is also a founding member of Spiral Rhythm and the lead singer in Skyypilot.
Ric lives in Atlanta, and spends his days wrapped in music and working his regular job. He is a talented drummer, and along with Kiki and Kerri is one of the longest standing, founding members of the band.
Madison lives in Asheville, North Carolina. She travels with her business for most of the year, but still manages to rehearse and perform with the band. She spends her days making incense and scheming. What she's scheming, we don't ask and she doesn't tell, but there's a wicked glint in her eye.
Jon live in Atlanta, Georgia. He was a founding member of the band, drifted away for a while, and returned to us full voice. He divides his time between corporate regularity and lending his unmatched sense of style to events planning, and of course, the band. He is also an artist, and has designed an album cover for our sister-band, Skyypilot. He collaborated on a line of pagan greeting cards, once had his own serial comic, and is still going at it, keeping his pencils handy.
PJ lives in Tucker, Georgia. She writes music and is a seamstress extraordinaire. She divides her time between her family, the band, and her clothing business, often sewing into the wee hours (and we thought it was elves in the basement, finishing those cloaks!).
Mark lives in Tucker, Georgia, with his wife Beth. Besides drumming and singing, he helps manage the band, recorded and produced our six (soon -to-beseven) CDs, and is the founder of Skyypilot, our sister-band.
Eris lives in Asheville, North Carolina. She sings, drums, and has earned the appellation "Copper Goddess" through her beautiful work with copper. She hammers, bends, twists, and creates jewelry, bowls, athames, and more.
Kathy lives in Asheville. She drums and sings with the band, lending her creative input to our sound. She's the quietest of us, but you know you have to watch out for the quiet ones!
Influences
Earth, air, fire, water, people, places, dreams, spirit...
Oh, wait, you meant musical influences! That would be difficult to say, since we all come from such different backgrounds. For the most part, we don't have an influence. We sound like us, and that comes from us.
Spiral Rhythm is a band that defies genre. We're spiritual, we're a'capella, we're percussion and rhythm. We sing, we dance, we laugh a lot, and most important, we celebrate the divine in song. If pressed, we could define ourselves as Pagan Spiritual, but don't box us in!
We're based out of Atlanta, Georgia, but have been known to travel as far as Ohio for a gig. Given the right circumstances, we'll go anywhere to perform!
Spiral Rhythm came into being when a small number of friends decided to split from another group; different visions, different needs, different destinations. We reformed as Spiral Rhythm and never looked back. Our music is a reflection of our spirit and our joy, and we love nothing more than to share both with our audience. We encourage audience participation, and have been known to get down off the stage and dance with the crowd.
We are constantly evolving, always looking for new ways to connect with each other and our listeners.
Life is a song, and we love to harmonize and drive the beat!
