Breaking Sounds formed in 2004, coming out of all night jams between Mitch, Rob, and Andre-Michel. The tunes reflect the style of the improvisations we were coming up with during one creative summer. As things solidified, Ashley was added to fill out the sound.
Fortunately for him, but not for us, Andre-Michel moved to Europe, where he currently resides playing music and loving life in general. In his absence, we haven't played live in a while, but have recently found a kindred spirit in Josh, who will bring his own style to the group.
The recordings on this site were made in the summer of 2005, with Dan Goldman manning the recording equipment, and Dan and Rob doing post-production. Please check out his site; he's in the top 8 friends section.
One thing not shown with the tunes up here is our improvisational side. All of the members are accomplished improvisers, and when we play live we do a mix of composed and completely improvised pieces.
