A QUICK HISTORY.
SOULKID 1 is a L.A. based project that centres around the talents of singer/songwriter, Marc Godfrey. They were first signed to Dreamworks Records and during this period the band launched into a two year recording binge the result of which is the CD "AMERICANIZED". After much drama, casual violence and heated arguements with the label, SOULKID 1 and DREAMWORKS parted ways and the label ended up being taken over Interscope. The band managed to walk with the recordings thanks to having some of the finest legal representation in the "City of Angels" and in 2004, SECRET AGENT RECORDS was formed. Besides generally causing trouble Marc also DJ's at trendy clubs around Hollywood, past events have included fashion shows and many charity fund raisers for Art Of Elysium. SOULKID..1's tongue in cheek pop anthem "(More Bounce In) CALIFORNIA" has been featured on the soundtracks for "Legally Blonde 2", "Win A Date With Tad Hamilton!", "The O.C.", and of course, MTV's LAGUNA BEACH. The song is also now on FILTER Mag's PSSST! FALL 2006 compilation and a dance remix version is now out on the "LAGUNA BEACH" Soundtrack Album, "Summer Can Last Forever". The track "Killing Machine" is on the Mod clothing label BEN SHERMAN CD SAMPLER and the full debut, "AMERICANIZED" is currently available in stores across North America thru ORGANIC/FONTANA distribution.
