We were there this past thursday, definately was not the same time. I did hear about the "new" beer garden- I would like to check it out but you are right, it may lessen the crowd at "our" beer garden! :)
i'm thinking about coming into the city for a few days next month around my birthday. want to see how much damage i can do to that motherfucker before heading out west. let me know if you'll be around.
I love Glassworks, some really strong stuff there. I was heavy into his stuff especially when I interned for him (thank God!) I thought I was going to do EotB at Oberlin for my senior recital! decided to write my own instead, a good decision. never really thought his approach worked that well or interestingly for a full orchestra, whereas it's perfect for a small ensemble.
do you really like the Glass Str quartet? I think the last piece of his I listed to was Orphee. I liked it actually. but none of the new "traditional" stuff has done much for me.
Yeah we do celebrate Christmas in Australia, but it's more a time to come together and worship the humble wombat than anything else. Just like your turkey day, I guess? But my tree is pretty. I have decorations on it that I made in grade 2 : )
