April 2008 we released our recording "Rest Of The Year" with 15 songs of traditional, swing, folk, old time and original songs. We recorded it at Chase Park with Tom Lewis and had several guests add to the album. David Blackmon on fiddle and mandolin, Dick Daniels on stand up bass and Tommy Jordan on clawhammer banjo. Thanks to EVERYONE who came to our CD Release Party at Masters Hall....we raised $1400 for WUGA!
The Solstice Sisters are Maggie Hunter, Susan Staley and Anna Durden three women harmonizing old time country ballads, traditional folk and 40's styled swing. Known not only for their lovely three part harmonies, but also for their spontaneous and energetic live shows. They have just released their new CD, "The Rest of the Year" featuring David Blackmon playing fiddle and mandolin, Dick Daniels on stand up bass and Tommy Jordan on claw hammered banjo. The CD is a mix of traditional old time & bluegrass styled ballads and swing songs and also feature some original songs from the sisters.
It was way back in 1994 that these three first got together to work up a few Christmas songs for a holiday event and it was the beginning of The Solstice Sisters and also the beginning of a long lasting friendship and partnership in song! In 1999 they released their album, "Holiday Music From Around the World", which is now in its second pressing. And now after nine years of fans asking for a recording they could listen to the rest of the year, the sisters are proud to release their second album entitled simply "The Rest of the Year" The Sisters have performed at many festivals in Northeast Georgia, sharing the stage with the likes of Doc Watson, Doyle Larson & Quicksilver, Ralph Stanley & His Clinch Mountain Boys and many more. They have become regulars at the Mountain Medicine and Music Show, a live radio show up in Dahlonega, Georgia and have performed at WUGA's radio broadcast "Once In A Blue Moon" and "It's Friday" and were featured on the state wide public radio show "Georgia Gazette".
Good Job Solstice Sisters! Great Harmony. I like it and the Old Time Music. I play Dulcimer too! Check us out on You Tube http://youtube. com/ and type The Paynes Leonard & Testaview into the search box there. Better quality sound there. We love music and play a wide variety of musical instruments. Happy to have you as our FRIENDS. Keep up the great HARMONY! On The web site we have 12 Gospel songs that we wrote for sale but we do other music also. you can check out some videos of us playing different instruments. You can find them in my (Blog) but play them on You Tube. The quality is better. The Paynes Leonard & Testaview

Hey, it's Fester Hagood from King Cotton inviting only the cool and goodlooking people to come to our triumphant return to Tasty World in downtown Athens, SEPT. 7TH @ 10PM!!! As usual, pornstars, unicorns, and people allergic to alcohol DRINK FREE!!! For the last 3 months we have taken a break to pursue a career as Harlem Globetrotters. After a heartbreaking rejection, we decided to get back on stage. We also recruited Guitar Man-Child Johnny Walker as our new lead player. Johhny was raised deep in Mississippi by swamp-wolves, at age 6 he was adopted by gypsies where he learned his chops on the guitar. After years working as a carnie, alligator wrestler, and as a rodeo clown, he happened to meet Eric Clapton, who called him "The best Carnie, alligator wrestling, rodeo clown I've ever seen play guitar!". Buy him a beer and welcome him to the family.
Keep an eye on our space for updates, gigs, and nude photos. See you at Tasty World and SUPPORT LIVE MUSIC.

I just wanted to stick my head in to say thanks for your support and your friendship.
Since March 1st I’ve been able to add over 10,000 friends to my site and I’ve been overwhelmed with the incredibly nice comments of encouragement. Its great folks like yourself that make Myspace the place to be for independent musicians and I for one can’t thank you enough.
I wish there were a more personable way to express my gratitude but please know that I’m speaking from my heart with unspeakable thanks.
I sure did enjoy your show at Saving Grace last Saturday, you sound better every time I hear you, must be tough going through life having to deal with being smart, talented and beautiful, but I must say, you ladies seem to be handling it very well!
Hey it's Fester. Sorry if I've been shady as of late, but I've been real busy. I still love all of you, and just wanted to give some updates on what I've been up to lately. I have a killer new band called KING COTTON, check out thier myspace music page. I have posted some NEW SONGS and got some LOCAL SHOWS coming up, including one at THE MELTING POINT, FEBUARY 7th in Athens with BIG DON SPURLIN. After a year in the studio, CAROLINE MONROE's cd, GHOST TOWN is finally out. I produced and wrote most of the music on the album, it is available on cdbaby.com. My Cd THE GYPSY is availible on Athensmusic.net, with a new lower price. I think 2007 will be a big year for me and King Cotton. I owe it all to you guys, thank you for all the support, and for coming out to a live show. Please leave me a comment on what you think of the new band and songs, or just let me know your still out there. SUPPORT LOCAL MUSIC!!! Fester Hagood and King Cotton
