SLANE was formed by Tim Keeley and Sean Tandy in hopes to bring a little irish folk to their areas. It wasn't long after October 2004 that Daniel Hendrix and Timothy Johnson joined the fray, and soon SLANE was born, at that time named Pontchartrain. Also in the mix was Aaron Walker but soon left the group to devote more time to his career.
Later on, two of the members of this original ensemble moved along. Sean went north to NE to study history and head off to grad school. Johnson continued studying in his area as well, and left only two original members to the group.
Tim and Dan ere adapting to the recent changes. Joining the group with his celtic harp was Ian Morrissey, and brought with him James Arnold and his fiddle skills. Two more members joined later that month, guitarist Mike Wardell and Andrew Graves [fiddle, mandolin]. They were currently active in the Greenville, SC area and were actively pursuing an album cover and recording prior to th group's general dispertion after a year playing together.
SLANE is now a one man show, playing duets and joining bands, but mostly promoting a solo career as a bodhran player and vocalist Tim Keeley. His passion remains the core of his being, which consequently resides in the rolling waves of the sea.
TIM IS ACTIVELY PURSUING A BAND IN THE GREENVILLE, SC AREA THAT IS INTERESTED IN ADDING HIM OR INCORPORATING HIM IN ANY WAY. HE'S RATHER EFFICIENT ON THE BODHRAN AND HAS A WIDE VOCAL RANGE THAT IS SUPPORTED BY DECENT TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE. HE'S BEEN IN MUSIC FOR OVER 16 YEARS, PLAYING THE PIANO FOR ALL THAT TIME AND THE SAXOPHONE FOR ALL BUT ONE OF THOSE YEARS. HE KNOWS THE TIN WHISTLE, RECORDER, HAS LITTLE BUT SOME EXPERIENCE ON TH MELODEON, SPOONS, AND IS EXTENSIVELY WORKING ON THE BODHRAN AND MUSICAL WRITING. PLEASE CONTACT VIA MESSAGE WITH MORE INFORMATION, THANK YOU!

Three friends go into a pub: an Englishman, a Scotsman, and an Irishman. They each order a pint, but when the barkeep brings their beer, each of the glasses has a fly in it!
The Englishman takes a look in his glass, and pushes it away in disgust.
The Scotsman picks the fly out of his drink, and flicks it away, then takes a swig.
The Irishman picks up the fly, holds it over his glass and hollers, "Spit it out, ya bastard!"
