Q. Who is Ryan Shook and why does he make these short films?
A. Ryan is currently a high school student and the son of a pastor. Ryan wants to write and create material that addresses issues he's currently dealing with. He believes preaching down to anyone is ignorant and that he probably needs whatever is being discussed more than anyone else.
Q. So what is slake films?
A. slake films is the moniker under which the production team of Empty, Chasing, and any further short films by the group goes by.
Q. What does slake mean?
A. slake v. - To satisfy (a craving); quench: slaked her thirst.
Q. Can I show Empty at; my youth group, business, camp, etc.?
A. Of course. We would love for you to show Empty to whoever and where ever you would like.
Q. Where can I get a DVD copy of Empty or Chasing?
A. Currently the DVD is being sold through Fellowship of The Woodlands' Online Book Store.
Q. Who made the music used in the short film?
A. Josh Shook and Michael Flores composed the score for Empty. Matt Gandy and Brandon Benson composed the score for Chasing .

Q. I am not a Christian and think this is propoganda/vague/too happy and that Ryan is a choir boy with bad hair, do you really think I buy any of this?
A. No. But know that Ryan wrote this out of his heart, isn't trying to preach to anyone, and just wants to find the truth like you do. He doesn't have all the answers, but after searching the best answer he found was that God truly is the only one who can fill our emptiness. If there's something else out there that can bring true fulfillment then he really wants to know.
