Stanwood, WA's Skullbot make music not unlike artists from their home state a decade earlier; the fury and funk of such grunge greats as Tad, Mudhoney, and early Soundgarden are immediately evident in their highly compressed, thick guitar and basslines.
The group formed in 2004 and achieved success largely via word of mouth and social networking websites. This word of mouth led to their inclusion on a KEXP studio compilation as the only band representing the Northwest. A self-released CD was issued in the summer of 2006, with a follow-up in the works. ~ Rob Theakston
