Hello & Welcome,
You have come to the right place. This page is host to the music of SiriouSouls, a.k.a, Soul Sirious, a.k.a Siri Khalsa. Please excuse my while I try to figure what to call myself and the music I make. I'd be easier If I didn't have to have a name at all.
As far as a bio goes, I am from the Bay Area (born in Berkeley), grew up in the east bay and went to highschool in Marin county at Tam high. Upon graduation I moved to Santa Barbara where I would reside and earn a bachelor's degree in fine arts over a five year period. Santa Barbara was a truly incredible experience.
When I was 19 I bought my first guitar at a pawn shop. It was Ben Harper who made me do it. Being inspired by an artist can be a very powerful moment in another artists life. It was his simple tunes and unique voice that seduced me into picking up the guitar myself. Teaching myself to play was a slow process, and more of a hobby, while I deligently honed my painting skills through school and working full time. I started writing songs when I was a junior in college (about 20 yrs old) but it wasn't until I graduated from UCSB when I really started to take music more seriously.
I became a regular at open mics around the bay, mainly in my home town of Berkeley at the Starry Plough and my highchool town of Mill Valley at the Sweetwater. As I started to gain confidence on the stage, I knew there was a lot more work that needed to be done off stage. I ran into an old freind of mine named Chris Detrick (fellow musician with savant like skills) and he exposed me to the world of recording and helped me to develope my guitar skills.
Shortly after, with a little bit of networking I landed myself a live TV show called Musical Cafe for Santa Barbara's public access channel. I opened up with an acoustic act for Rebelution(a reggae rock band from SB), and earned myself a feature act at the Starry Plough. The rest is history...
Currently, I am working with a musicain named Rick Cittar who has helped me to refine my songs and add a full sound with his backing band called Uncle Bobb. It sounds great and I really can't wait to get the music out there. I feel that we are only going up from here. I hope you enjoy!!

Hi Siri, good job on the EP. I look forward to hearing it professionally mastered too. I totally think you should take your guitar with you when you go to Australia. Then you can expand your audience internationally. :)
