Lori Moran is emerging as a new artist on the scene in Los Angeles, although she has been singing since before she could talk. Her voice has been described by critics as a "caressing, warm, crystal clear soprano...with impeccable intonation."
Hailing from a long line of gifted southern women, she grew up in the midst of musicians, actors, writers, and artists, who nurtured and encouraged her bent for singing from a very early age. Formal training in piano and a music degree from Florida State University equipped Lori well as she began her career in regional opera (Orlando Opera Company), as a featured soloist with the Florida Symphony Orchestra and the Tampa Bay Oratorio. She joined Disney in the mid-90's, appearing on many Disney recordings and performing with the world renowned Voices of Liberty at EPCOT Center. While at Disney, Lori also served as a regular clinician for the Disney Sings! educational program for aspiring young performers.
A member of Actors' Equity & SAG, Lori's regional musical theater credits include the roles of Christine in Phantom of the Opera, Adelaide and Sarah Brown in Guys & Dolls, Kim MacAfee in Bye, Bye, Birdie, Laurie in Oklahoma, Fantine in Les Miserables, Reno Sweeney in Anything Goes, Fanny Bryce in Funny Girl, Sally Bowles in Cabaret, and Dolly Levi in Hello, Dolly.
Lori is represented by Victoria Morris at KSA (Kazarian, Spencer & Associates) in Los Angeles. For bookings, contact Jacole Kitchen at KSA (818) 755-7571.
Lori's debut CD, entitled "On My Way to You" features some of Los Angeles' hottest jazz players, and includes beautiful standards from the Great American Songbook, with some exquisite less-well known tunes from contemporary composers. It is available here on myspace or on CDBaby, iTunes, Earbuzz, and LoriMoran.com.
In addition to performing, Lori spends much of her time working with up-and-coming artists. Less than a decade ago, Lori opened her own music studio in Los Angeles, Lori Moran Music Studio, which has blossomed into a multi-faceted school for voice, piano, guitar and strings, with a faculty of ten highly specialized music instructors. Listed in the National Who's Who Among America's Teachers for her excellence in teaching, Lori Moran is a professional musician and accredited teacher with a long waiting list of private students.
Lori and her husband live just south of Los Angeles with their three dogs. Aside from music, Lori's other passion is caring for her own pups, and seeking to ensure the humane treatment of all animals. She takes an active role in advocating tougher animal protection laws, and is a strong supporter of the ASPCA and the Humane Society of the US.
I hope you'll forgive a bit of shameless merchandising. I've just released my new CD. Still doin' the Jazz thing, but this is definitely not your father's organ trio!
CD Baby's got it; there are samples, links & digital downloads on my Myspace page.

"If you are pessimistic, think that you are a part of the human society, and the human beings, in the depths of their hearts, love naturally the others. Among them, you can always trust in somebody, you can always follow someone's example." Dalaï-Lama
