Influences

Too many to mention at the moment.....! I LOVE MUSIC. Jazz, free improvisations, rock, soul, funk, grooves.

I've been a huge Weather Report/Jaco Pastorius fan since I started playing. Skúli Sverrisson, Hilmar Jensson, Jim Black, Chris Speed and Cuong Vu have been doing amazing inspiring music for years now.

I also love old school Motown, all the James Jamerson classic basslines. Bach and Frank Zappa also have their place.... and Bulgarian Womens Choirs and Bulgarian folk music in general is fascinating.

I also like music from the ECM label, both old and new.

Here are some (modern) electric bass players that I find amazing: Skúli Sverrisson, Matthew Garrison, Tony Grey, Richard Bona, Anthony Jackson..... to name a few!

About Sigurdór

Sigurdór graduated spring 2004, from The FIH (Icelandic Musicians Union) School of Music in Iceland. He also graduated from the music teacher line at the same school spring 2003. Been a music teacher since 2001 Exchange student at The Royal Academy of Music, Aarhus, autumn 2003. Sigurdór has played in various cover bands through the years, playing pop, rock, funk and jazz as well as playing original material in various styles of music. Currently active in various projects.
