I have great news!
We accepted a new bassist as an official member. Her name is Ritsuko.
Yes! Shonen Knife became 3 piece band.
Shonen Knife was started as a 3 piece band then, original bassist left the band in 1999. Since then, the original drummer Atsuko switched to the bassist and played with support drummers. Two years ago, the drummer Etsuko became our official member. Just at that time, Atsuko moved to Los Angeles and it became difficult to play regularly. She graduated Shonen Knife rock school. Then Etsuko and I was playing with some support bassists. Ritsuko is one of them. She is a good musician and a big Shonen Knife fan.
Now, Shonen Knife is Naoko - vocal & guitar, Etsuko - drums and Ritsuko - bass and backing vocals.
We will release our new album "Super Group" on November 7th in Japan. We'll have Japan tour in December. As soon as possible, we'd like to go to play in overseas, too. I hope to see you guys at our show soon!!!

少年ナイフは、Naokoを中心に大阪で結成される。ちなみにバンド名は、彼女が見つけたポケットナイフの銘柄。
1983年に1stアルバム「Burning Farm」をインディーズのZero Recordからリリース。同アルバムは1985年にアメリカのインディーズ・K Labelより発売される。そのオリジナルなサウンドはアメリカ・イギリス・ヨーロッパで人気を博し、1992年に日本・アメリカ・イギリスでメジャーデビュー。以後、アルバムリリースとワールドツアーをコンスタントに続ける。

一度聴いたら忘れられないポップなメロディーラインにアイロニカルな歌詞。
幅広い音楽性をベースに、個性あふれる少年ナイフワールドを創り出す。
パンク・ニューウエイヴに影響を受けつつ70年代ロックがマイブーム。
