Jam Nite @ the Parkview Niteclub

Wednesday 03-12-2008

..
This is from the weekly Jam Nite at the Parkview Niteclub in Cleveland, OH. This clip is the second song done by this collection of musicians. The vocals are by a local who said he hadn't been out to sing in a year, and needed to get out and do something. I think you will agree that he did and he can.

This is a video of me listening to the CBC Radio show "As It Happens". This is the annual playing of the Frederick Forsyth story "The Shepherd". It starts out with an interview of Frederick Forsyth talking about when he wrote "The Shepherd" and how the story came to be. It is a ghost story, and a christmas story. It is also a great piece of radio history in its form here. Frederick Forsyth starts off the telling of the story and it continues into the full telling of "The Shepherd" as read by Alan Maitland, the former CBC "As It Happens" host, also known to many as "Fireside Al". West Park House Fire

..
This is a video of a house fire I captured on saturday nite, December 2, 2006. It was the only footage of the fire to be on local television. First you will see my raw video, then the clip that was shown on WEWS channel 5, the ABC affiliate. I gave them the video because they asked and I like the station. They also gave me my first on air credit for my video. Thanks WEWS.

This is a truck fire in Cleveland, Ohio on a Friday nite. The fire department has been looking for this fire for about an hour, but we found it first. It includes a couple of good expolsions and some colorfull reactions to water near the end of the shoot.

It'll be a more experimental show than usual, and we'll probably DJ some tunes first.

Will be the last time we play out for awhile, so if you haven't had a chance to catch us, check it out!

JEFFREY FREDERICK
The Resurrection of Spiders In The Moonlight

Resurrected on CD after 30 years, digitally remastered and expanded, with a new cover by Jeff's pal, Michael Hurley! This is the classic Jeffrey Frederick and the Clamtones album which is representative of the musical genius and ride of jest that is pure Frederick and showcases his voice and the musicianship of the Clamtones.

Pleasures include the legendary "Let Me Down," which caused the band to be escorted by the Alabama State troopers to the state line and told “never return”. The infamous "Beer Shits" has been the opening tune for KPIG’s morning show in Watsonville, CA. since the song’s inception. "Stolen Guitar" "reflects the feelings of any musician to whom this has happened, while "Toilet" (on the Profile) cautions about the dangers of sitting there and playing the guitar too long. "Window" is the ultimate anti-love song, "Juanita" the opposite… the wry and hilarious stories go on and on… “Rotten Lettuce,” “Lazy Bones,” “Oh Me Oh My,” “Singing To The Dentist,” “Rosebud,” Guy Clark’s “Broken Hearted People,” “Release Me,” and the blues, “Risin’ In The Mornin’.”

“Frederick is the secret hero of my beloved Have Moicy! It is insanely funny. Dedication: We would like to apologize to our mothers.” Robert Christgau, Village Voice.

"I always remembered Spiders as great. I was wrong. It's better than that." A fan

"The Resurrection of Spiders in the Moonlight is my new favorite album. Oh, wait, it was my OLD favorite album, too. The ANTHEM of my 70’s. I love having it remastered and the three new songs are great.” Calamity Jane of KMUN’s “Café Vaquera”

You can order the CD directly from http://www.jeffreyfrederick.com ($16 postpaid in the US, $19 rest of the world) or from most anywhere quality CDs are sold.

RECYCLED RAINBOW
ANCIENT WORLDS
MAY 25/26

This is the week!

If you are looking for artistic direction, please consider working
your outfit, clothing, art piece, or performance into this chosen
theme.

Friday is the cleanup/setup/prep party starting at 7 pm, followed by
performances, DJ'ing, and an outflow of creative energy, which
continues strong until Sunday morning. Dressing up on both days is
encouraged.

If you haven't already done so, please review the FAQ and First
Timer's Guide on the Recycled Rainbow website.

If you are inviting someone along, be sure they have read it also, and
kindly direct them to sign up to this distribution list so that they
can be informed of future events.

As always, BYOB, and ideally, bring your own cooler with ice (we can't
guarantee we will have them available for you behind the bar.)

Bring a vegetarian food item to bring if you'd like to come here and
eat around 7 pm Saturday.

By now (or VERY soon) you should know:
- how you are going to contribute to the event
- costume / outfit (I know they aren't required, but the event is so
much more fun when you all have something unusual about your
appearance)
- a creative way to contribute to the theme

PM me for address/directions after you've read over the website.

"there no excuse for war except of course bitterness which is always good for a stagnation or two" and thats what we live in-- a Stag-Nation...i've got a weapon of mass-CONstruction (my guitar) and i'm going to stop the world in its foolish tracks. Below is a visual mantra and if you click on it you will be transported to a land of truth, bliss, and freedom. peace.

"

"let there be no more war"

it's so funny, this little conundrum,
which warring folks and those who support their primary function,
repeatedly drone on: "god made the world to be this way,
so who's to say, what wrong or right?" they say...
apparently they think they are
the chosen ones to carry uzis,
claiming the ultimate power to take life,
and all in the name of Allah or Jesus...
to put it simply, war is private mourning
sublimated into public vengeance
and if you could REALLY forgive your enemies
there'd be no more war,
so why don't you come to your senses?
yes and who's to accept the circumstances as they are ?
I ask with solemn deference
while riding in your car
looking up the stars...
cause if you could could really forgive existence
and accept that death is always here
then this fucked-up cycle of vengeance would
finally disappear...
there never was a borderline
there never was a spoken truth
there only was this consciousness
uniting all in the same root
so i don't care what country you're from
i don't care what name you call god
if you could really forgive
there'd be no more war
o let there be no more war.

ps. this is my last comment for a while...enjoy it! also feel free to delete my other comments...in fact please do! if you click the groovy picture you can check out my soundclick site where you get all my music free...one love...
