There's usually more content on my blog. Big deal.
I am so not hip enough for Wednesday Night Drinking Club, and that's fine by me. I'm a geek at heart; I love gadgets, Web 2.0, and all that crap. Sitting on a barstool at the Vortex nursing a PBR and trading jokes with Artie is my idea of a big night out.
I have just a few months left in which to run some pre-doomed experiments and crank out a dissertation; if I'm ever brusque with you, that's why. I spent 18 months as an amateur Democratic political operative only to run into a big Red brick wall of failure; if I don't give a crap about your taxes, that's why.
I'm kind of high-strung, type A (though invariably 15 minutes late), and a bit of a control-freak at times. I survive my sensitivity through cultivated indifference. I used to be a lot of fun. I'm most excited when advocating something I believe in, and I can never get enough of the stage. To that end, sometimes I vlog:
Who I'd like to meet:
Anyone who can put up with my shit. Nerds and geek are cool. Fellow Vortex beverage enthusiasts. An employer -- anybody need a sci-tech policy analyst? No more Republicans, I'm all full up for now. And for crying out loud, get that tired old Jack Kerouac quote off your profile.
Hey Shelby...I just watched my birthday video on YouTube with the sound on and it was super cool! Winners! Yeaaaaaaaah. Very sweet of you to put that together. Thanks again.
Your first press credentials? Make sure you study up on your elbowing to get up front! We're not sending anyone that I know of -- Bishopville is about as far as we go these days. When are you coming into town?
