Shelly is a native of Missouri and spent much of her childhood singing in church and school music competitions. She credits her love of music to her parents, who spent many years driving her over 400,000 miles around the USA to singing engagements.
While in school Shelly won a guitar in a competition from a local music store so she started to learn and began writing her own songs. In 1998 she graduated from college with a degree in Criminal Justice and immediately moved to Nashville to pursue a career in music.
Recently, Shelly has performed alongside many famous country artists, including Sarah Evans, Dwight Yoakam, Blake Shelton, Lonestar, and Trace Adkins. She also has several televised performances to her name and country radio stations throughout the USA play her songs on a regular basis.
