| About Shades of Red (March 10th at the MYC!) |
It's about time....
Shades Of Red started in the summer of 2005 when Matt Reagan and Peter Hunter met together for early collaborations. With no real expectations, they gathered a group of close friends to fill the spots of a five piece outfit. Due to time constraints and artistic differences over the next few months, they went through many lineup changes in the search for a solid, commited group. The three original members that were still part of this project took the alias "Early Mourning" to use as a name to play under and get shows. With their first show approaching though, they still had no bassist and were nowhere near ready. They begun a search for a lead guitarist, and immediately came across Ryan Pino. Motivated by Ryan's skill and need to learn their new material, Early Mourning wrote "The New Song" and finalized their set for their first show with Daze, Hardly Formal, A Night at The Pictures, Wasco, and Hopefield. The addition of Ryan attracted talented drummer Paul Runco and former Days Of Contraband bassist Gabe Johnston. Now armed with an array of talent, Early Mourning looked to revamp their sound in a very positive way. They wrote all new material, changed their name to Shades Of Red, and started recording and looking for more shows. Motivated by their new songs and upcoming performances, they turned themselves into a dedicated powerhouse, rather than choosing to only practice days before shows. Their intense live performances are capturing the attention of clubs all over the Bay Area and are looking to expand their musical horizons through the means of more show opportunities. In the next several months, keep your eyes out for their EP, and plenty of merch as they work tirelessly through the summer to bring you music you can rock out to.
