"Sevenscore deliver a versatile and dynamic melodic rock which is filled with edginess, creative contrast and thought provoking melodies and lyrics"
Ollie Nicholls, our friend and keyboard player with Sevenscore, died suddenly in a tragic car accident in the early hours of Sunday morning (30th march). Ollie was at the hub of the Tunbridge Wells music scene as professional music producer at Doz studios, sound engineer at the Paul Dunton and Guests evening at the Gray Lady and a fantastic solo artist.
Ollie will be missed by many but will never be forgotten

Bio
With a sound described as ’Thom Yorke meets John Lennon’, Tunbridge Wells based Sevenscore deliver a versatile and dynamic rock/pop filled with edginess, creative contrast and thought provoking lyrics and melodies.
The band was formed in 2002 by Alfie, Mark and Martin. Following the recoring of their album, ’Safe and Dry’ in in 2003 performances have included the Tunbridge Wells Forum, the ’Gazastock’ festival, ’Music on the Meadow’, and two consecutive nights at the ’Hop Farm Fireworks Extravaganza’ (attended by over 10,000 each night!)
In mid 2006 Sevenscore was joined by Ollie and shortly afterwards the band won a place in the final of the kmfm battle of the bands. Following this, the song ’Smile’ topped the radio stations local music chart and got airplay for this. Since then the band have recorded an interview and live tracks at the kmfm studios as part of UK Music Week 2007 and received further airplay , including the breakfast show, with their single, ’Follow You’.
BBC Raido Kent have also taken a keen interest with the track ’Wrong Place Wrong Time pt1’ featuring as demo of the week in July 2007.
In late 2007 local newspapers the Kent Messenger, the Kent and Sussex Courier and the Sevenoaks Chronicle all ran large features on Sevenscore in their entertainments sections.
Currently the band is working on material for thier new album out in mid 2008.

"Headlining the show were Sevenscore. The band stripped down for the show…..(acoustically that is!)… Quentin was in fine form leading the band with his dazzling guitar and rasping Buckley esque tones. Mark Cooper (drums) and Martin Lucas (bass guitar) gelled effortlessly to drive the pulse of the songs and with Ollie Nicholls embroidery on the piano giving further texture to the overall sound. They may give the impression of being relaxed, laid back and easy come , easy go but these guys give it their all on stage and are wildly passionate about their music and perform with real intensity and focus. ’Safe & Dry’ and ’Wrong place, wrong time’ are my favorites tunes, both very memorable and contain hooks that have you humming along for days to come. In two words, it was ’captivating stuff!’…. I tell thee!" Paul Dunton (2006)
Hey! Thanks for the comment on my blog :D Blain hasn't replied yet (suprise suprise lol) but I'm not too bothered anymore anyway, I just won't be entering competitions where you have to pay anymore! And probably not songwriting competitions since its so damn subjective!
I just clicked on the first song, I like what I hear so far :) xxx

Guys, thinking of you all at this time. I'm so glad I caught your last gig with Ollie - thanks for making that a fine last musical memory for me. Chris
Hope you can make it PODFEST Live present: Maria Willson + Minus IQ + Monoman + The Lettabees + DJ "Stouche Pepsee" until 1. 00AM
Check out the bands:
Maria Willson Maria herself, stunningly glamourous, has a voice somewhere between an English Kelly Clarkson and a younger Sheryl Crow. Her songs, albeit still just demos for now, ooze trans-Atlantic class, and are stomping pop/rock anthems underpinned by some fat Hammond style organ lines and chunky guitars such as the smouldering 'Ready to blow' or the sassy strutt of 'Agent Provocateur'. Demos for now, but destined for bigger things me thinks...... MusicReview Rated 6/6 ONSTAGE: 9:30 pm www. myspace. com/mariawillson
Minus IQ "Incredible, Great vocals... an edge that really stands out. Great stuff. " Will Sherman - Matchbox Recordings
"The gentle but passionate vocal of Charlie is strangely familiar to that of 80's giants Duran Duran, but there's a real mega rock track going on here - awesome!" Neon Promotions
"Minus IQ show a great talent beyond their years and adept at composing songs that the listener can enjoy and sing along to... get yourself along to one of their gigs because their worth your time. " www. makemusic. co. uk ONSTAGE: 9:00 pm www. myspace. com/minusiq
Monoman Reinvented 3 piece band from London with a vibrant, energetic punky sound.
Well played at the Grey Lady this evening, really was an honour being on the same bill. Great to meet you all too, apart from Ollie (having previously met as opposed to it not being great). All the best and hopefully catch you soon!
